09.01.2022 QERA State Champs 2020: 160km arrival Leg 3

09.01.2022 It was a wet weekend away for Easter @ Stirling! There was an escapade, of the equine variety, then a slippery and icky 80km, a surprise vet out but a triumphant finish for two of our ponies. Prince = escaped Mizzy = vet out (WHAT?!) Romeo & Spyder = thank heaven they made it!... Mizzy somehow seemed to pull something as he came out of the creek just half a kilometre from finishing. I actually walked Spyder home on foot and he finished the 80km sound. And Romeo and Cami are OPEN! We are next heading to Stirling for the Classic! There, Adriana and I are planning to enter the 80km, which will be Adri’s first with Syd, and my first with Jaazy! I can’t believe I haven’t done an 80km with my redheaded crazy before, I’ve had him for years! First time for everything I suppose! On another note, we are waiting for Koda to pop. Anytime in the next few weeks! Eeek!

09.01.2022 Dubai international horse fair... I don’t know exactly what class or competition this was... but they were pretty! I have permanent burning envy over anyone who can make their white horse actually glow white... I gave up trying to dye mine white in the end and went full purple instead lol

05.01.2022 QERA State Champs 2020 Chintz and Jaazy 3rd JNR 85km Camille and Romeo DNC 85km Adriana and Mizzy W/D Leg 3 160km And camp happy snaps!

04.01.2022 Cooyar 30th Anniversary Ride, the Hip Pocket Challenge Spencer and Jaazy whipped around the 41km track in 3hr 21min and finished with a heart rate of 43bpm. The vet asked whether he’d even done the ride and that he could have gone faster - alas, being a training ride that was not an option Adriana got Mizzy around the 83km to remove the ominous 13 month rule cloud, and Mizzy got Adriana safely around her first endurance completion since last April - smiles all round! ... And Cami and Romeo successfully completed their FIRST 83KM!!! The third step in the 5 steps to Open status is complete, just two more to go! There was just a little bit of excitement over that one - and it was not a ride without it’s hiccups when a helmet light failed to arrive on its appointed day, and a different light malfunctioned before the darkness descended and Cami was almost left to ride by moonlight until a little leap of faith had them back on track with a new set of batteries and lit up like a Christmas tree 100% completion again, so far so good. Next ride, Charleville!

02.01.2022 Four years since this one was written, feels like yesterday

02.01.2022 Pre-ride vetting Cooyar 2020 - Adriana

02.01.2022 And just like that, it’s July! It’s been a weird year - but things are looking up. In just a couple of weeks the Marvels will be headed to their first ride of the rebooted endurance season! Since I had already completed one 40km this year, I figured I will sit back and relax - I mean tow the horses to the ride and strap - while the others ride instead! Adriana will be pairing up with Mizzy as the leader of the group being the most experienced combination. They will be accom...panied by Camille and Romeo for Cami’s first 40km and Romeo’s second ride - wooo! And last but not least, we have - wait for it - Spencer (yes, strapper extraordinare Spencer) attempting his second 40km, only almost nine years since his first one..! He will be aboard the accomplished and well seasoned Jaazy who has already done one 40km this year, but his goal is to complete a ride on Aston too. The rebooted Marvel season will begin at Fernvale - we are so excited!!
