14.01.2022 Anyone who has animals, would be aware of the flies that become a nuisance as the warmer weather arrives. Rather than using insecticides, we are using Spalangia. Spalangia are tiny wasps (2 to 3mm long) that are naturalised to Australia. ... Spalangia are harmless to other insects and to all vertebrate animals including humans. The adult female wasp lays her eggs into immature fly pupae. After hatching, the wasp larva feeds on the developing fly, ultimately killing it. Thank you to Stoney Creek Farm for educating me about these little warrior's.
