The first 2 years of my 40s seem to have gone by so quickly, because I have simply been making The best of my 40s . Your best days are not behind you, they are still in front of you I’ve been doing some Spring cleaning and throwing out things that don’t serve me Came across this card from my last position at The Australian National University - Student Exchange Office in #canberra where I was juggling family, work and completing my events degree... This was my last official job and it ended June 2013, then a year later I kicked off my first business End2End Events after completing my degree That gap year/ transition from working for someone to working for myself, played a huge role in my life and business journey. 07.01.2022 MRD Interior Styling and Recycling Tip ~ Give second-hand items a new life! Events is an Industry that relies on a lot! From purchasing, planning, problem solving, dealing and managing people, styling and decor and the list goes on. Waste from events can be high if you are not careful.... I’ve always loved collecting and purchasing unique Op-Shop items for my events inventory, and now it’s time to let go of many things to move on to my next Stage in life and business. I found this second hand painted Japanese Style umbrella, in my kids fete in #Canberra years ago. It was in The Trash and Treasure part of the fete because the base was broken. I absolutely loved the Artwork on the umbrella and it was a no brainer to give it a new home I re-found it whilst going through my event stock recently and unpacked it from the box to see how I can re-use it. I then figured out a way to correct it’s base by inserting it in a raw metal mannequin. I absolutely love how it looks now and how it can be used as an outdoors setting this Australian Spring & Summer. The table and chair in image are also made from recycled metal and I like the combination of the beaten up rustic look combined with this beautiful painted umbrella. Doing my part in looking after the environment and reducing waste. How can you too breath new life to second hand decor and furniture pieces? P.S I will be holding a Stocktake Sale at End2End Events warehouse in October to help give new life to Event Decor and Home Decor pieces.
