24.01.2022 * The dead are not distant or absent. They are alongside us. When we lose someone to death, we lose their physical image and presence, they slip out of visible... form into invisible presence. This alteration of form is the reason we cannot see the dead. But because we cannot see them does not mean that they are not there. Transfigured into eternal form, the dead cannot reverse the journey and even for one second re-enter their old form to linger with us a while. Though they cannot reappear, they continue to be near us and part of the healing of grief is the refinement of our hearts whereby we come to sense their loving nearness. When we ourselves enter the eternal world and come to see our lives on earth in full view, we may be surprised at the immense assistance and support with which our departed loved ones have accompanied every moment of our lives. In their new, transfigured presence their compassion, understanding and love take on a divine depth, enabling them to become secret ‘angels’ guiding and sheltering the unfolding of our destiny. John O'Donohue Excerpt from Beauty Thanks to John O’Donohue * Artist - Neeltje Prior Bollen

22.01.2022 Such heartfelt truth

21.01.2022 * May you recognize in your life the presence, power, and light of your soul. May you realize that you are never alone,... that your soul in its brightness and belonging connects you intimately with the rhythm of the universe. May you have respect for your individuality and difference. May you realize that the shape of your soul is unique, that you have a special destiny here, that behind the façade of your life, there is something beautiful and eternal happening. John O’Donohue Excerpt from the blessing, 'For Solitude' from his books: Benedictus (Europe) / To Bless the Space Between Us (US) * Art - Soul Shape by J. Sanz Cordona

17.01.2022 Japanese Maple has been described as Clive James’s ‘farewell poem’. Written after he was diagnosed with leukaemia and emphysema, the poem was published by the N...ew Yorker in 2014 and promptly went viral online. 16.01.2022 There are only two feelings. Love and fear. There are only two languages. Love and fear. There are only two activities.... Love and fear. There are only two motives, two procedures, two frameworks, two results. Love and fear. Love and fear. Michael Leunig This beautiful Leunig poem is so true in these crazy times. Mary Eleanor will continue to operate from a place of love whilst taking necessary precautions.

14.01.2022 Yesterday we said farewell to one of our own team. Our beautiful Andrea only just started doing some work with Mary Eleanor natural funeral care when she became unwell. After a diagnosis in September it was a rapid and courageous struggle before crossing threshold peacefully surrounded by beautiful family. 6 days later we shared an amazing afternoon full of food music and memories. We are truly blessed to know Andrea and may her gracious courageous presence continue through us and the work we do. With love Sandra x
