24.01.2022 On Sunday the wonderful group of Sacramental children celebrated a beautiful Mass for Confirmation and First Holy Communion with their families. Fr Michael made it very special and personal and spoke to the children about following Jesus in the way that we live our lives, just as the saints that they had chosen did. He also spoke of the way that each child’s spirituality has grown this year and their connection to God. Congratulations to this amazing group of young people and well done on your commitment to your faith
24.01.2022 Disco Dancing. Last night the Student Representative Council hosted a disco with a dress up theme of 'Come as someone famous'. All disco dancers enjoyed a sausage sizzle, drinks and lollies. We would like to give a big shout out to former student Toby Zerk for being our DJ for the evening - thank you so much!

19.01.2022 We are seeking a vibrant, collaborative and compassionate person, who has some experience in working with children to engage with their learning, while actively supporting their social, emotional and behavioural needs.
18.01.2022 And a spot of kayaking.... I wonder if any of the Year 6/7s went overboard?
18.01.2022 Today we honour, thank and remember the service men and women who have sacrificed so much for us throughout history, and who continue to do so today. We will remember them. Holly and Johnny, our School Captains, attended the service at the memorial site and laid a wreath and all classes gathered to reflect in silence and the choir performed For Love Of Country to commemorate this time.

16.01.2022 On Friday MMMS staff engaged in a day reflecting on the Pope's Encyclical 'Laudato Si' and the connection we have to God's Creation. They spent time at the Interpretative Centre learning more about Fr Julian Tenison Woods, and his appreciation of the wonder and awe of Creation. Thank you to Marg Muller for her detailed presentation of the Fr Julian Tenison Woods room at the Mary MacKillop Interpretative Centre. Thank you also to Wynn's Winery for accommodating us. 'So great is the strength we possess in our unity.' (Mary MacKillop, 1874)

09.01.2022 This term the students at Mary MacKillop Memorial School have been designing placemats for all of the residents at Pinchunga Aged Care Facility. The placemats will be used on their breakfast and lunch trays and are our way of keeping in touch and bringing some joy to these fabulous people in our community. Last week Poppy and Charlie delivered the placemats to Pinchunga. They couldn't go inside to see if they liked them, however, they sent us some photos and videos of thanks. #live #love #learn #flourish #RaisingHeartsAndMinds
07.01.2022 ATTENTION PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS: As previously advised, the Premier has announced a statewide lockdown in South Australia for the next 6 days. For the next two days 19 20 November 2020 the school will be closed except for care of the children of essential workers. These are school closure days and, as such, no remote learning will be provided. We will have a small number of staff on site to provide supervised care to any family who require this essential service. If yo...ur child will be present on either of these days please email me directly as soon as possible. Students have bought home all the materials and equipment that will assist them with their learning. The school will remain closed in the week commencing 23 November except for the care of children of essential workers. Where one parent is classed as an essential worker and the other is not, children will need to remain at home. Information about our approach to remote learning next week will be communicated to you on Friday. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. We will be in constant contact. With blessings and prayers, Nicole
06.01.2022 This week we have been celebrating everything Literacy and Numeracy. On Tuesday students gathered in their House groups Mc Cormack, Woods-MacKillop and Cameron and engaged in rotational activities. The activities highlighted some of the fun ways that we learn together in literacy and numeracy at all year levels. The R/1 enjoyed teaching the older students how to make books in a bookmaking session. The older students enjoyed reading stories to the younger students during b...uddy reading. All students engaged in problem solving, predicting and demonstrated their skills and knowledge as mathematicians. #live #love #learn #flourish #RaisingHeartsAndMinds

03.01.2022 National Sorry Day In Australia, "National Sorry Day (26 May) acknowledges and raises awareness of the history and continued effect of the forced removal of Abo...riginal and Torres Strait Islander people from their families, communities and culture." (https://bit.ly/3ulRJZw) On this day, let us open our hearts and pray.... Compassionate God, fill our hearts with love deep enough to walk in the shoes of those who have known hardship in their lives. Like Mary MacKillop, may we reach out to those who are struggling in our community. St Mary of the Cross, serving with compassion, pray for us. Amen. #NationalSorryDay #MaryMacKillop #SaintMaryMacKillop #StMaryOfTheCrossMacKillop Artwork located in the Mary MacKillop Chapel at Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, East Melbourne, Victoria
02.01.2022 How can we raise the hearts and minds to the wonder and awe of God’s creation? Our students have explored and captured this question through photography and art. They reflected on how our school raises hearts and minds to the wonder and awe of God through creation. They were able to discuss the actions of this awareness in our school and home. #RaisingHeartsAndMinds... #live #love #learn #flourish

01.01.2022 On Thursday of week 5 we held our annual sports day. The day started off with slightly drizzly and windy conditions, which was perfect for our long run and tabloid events, but made it difficult for the scorers. We finished off the day with games for each year level, relays and the hotly contested tug of war, which was won for the second year in a row by McCormack! Cameron were the winning team for the day, also taking out the Gardiner Cup (School Spirit) which is given out every year for the most points accumulated throughout the year. Junior Champions - Louis, Indi and Sophie Senior Champions - Winnie and Zac
