25.01.2022 DON'T TELL THE KIDS! One of my kids don't like mushrooms, the other doesn't like eggplant and the other always wants meat! So what do you do? Decieve them ofcourse I made a cheat lasagna and my kids were non the wiser. No meat. Using: eggplant , mushrooms, capsicums and sweet potato and blend it all!... 25.01.2022 GOOD NUTRITION POST PARTUM Breakfast go-to because you can eat using one hand. Yep. If you don't think you need this...just wait until you have a baby. You need to be able to eat nutritious food whilst holding your baby at the same time. You want to avoid quick grabs that are empty calories, and difficult recipes that you won't manage while the baby is crying. ... My go to are quick oats and smoothies. Pop some quick oats in a bowl, add some filtered water and pop it in the microwave for about 90secs. Once it's nice and soft pour on some coconut milk (or milk of choice) and I mix in whatever is available. 23.01.2022 This is me. Not a flattering angle I know but this is it. It's been a very tiring and uneasy journey for me to get here. I guess I wasn't a typical student- 2 kids single mom going through court battles whilst finishing my degree and trying to stay sane. But my blood sweat and tears paid off. To say I'm a Naturopath- I feel isn't doing justice. Long before I wanted to be a Naturopath I had a mother who was an old school Naturopath. Extreme, to say the least in being health... conscience. So getting into health was never a phase, fad or due to popular rise (not a good business strategist am I?)-it was simply the path chosen for me. Healthy living is a part of my blood and it's practical and it's a way of life. What I'm about: being pragmatic, balance, authentic and I have a genuine need to help others. What I am not about: fads, veganism, "diets", bull**** and "one pill fixes all approach". It takes balance and patience to achieve what you want and no magic pill will get u there (did I just lose half of my customers?) I have too much respect for knowledge and our teachers who spent hours writing books and researching to deny what traditional medicine has taught us about our bodies and health. And I promise it's delicious and nutritious. Chia puddings man...they rock. I'm not the OG of chia puddings but since I discovered them I love them. And this is my recipe tried and tested ... Few tablespoons of chia seeds (black or white doesn't matter) Coconut milk to the top Grated or shaved Coconut Maple or agave syrup (very little) Vanilla bean paste Berries to top optional or fruit of choice Sprinkle of Milo or Ovaltine also optional You can eat it after 5 minutes or refrigerate until nice and cold (an hour or so) You can also prep it the night before as on an the go brekky or for kids lunches. 20.01.2022 A CLOVE OF GARLIC AND CUP OF ORGANIC WHEY My story Privileged to be brought up on organic food, backyard chicken eggs and on running fields as far as the eye can see, my mother was a health fanatic. she dedicated her whole life to being an entrepreneur who implemented an eco friendly, completely natural and health conscious mother and individual. She made her own bread, cheese, yogurt, butter, jams, chutneys and beauty products. As a result, I grew up never seeing the inside ...of a GPs office. 17.01.2022 How I solved my mastitis First of all it's bloody painful!!! Secondly: a disclaimer- this might not work for someone who has a poor functioning immune system and poor gut function. And just because it worked for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone. If you are in pain and suffering- take antibiotics and don't let it worsen. 1- I noticed I felt fatigued, hot and got a headache, which I usually never get. I touched my breast and it was tender and hot...so I knew mastiti...s was brewing. I immediately went to the shower, applied pressure and squeezed out my breast under hot water. The heat allows the milk to flow out easily. 2- After my shower I used my breast pump and emptied it completely. Then applied a cold application ie. Cabbage leaf (boiled and cooled in the fridge) or a similar gel breast pad I brought. And I would repeat this cycle every 2-3hours. 3- Don't breastfeed baby until infection has completely healed- give it 2-3days (express and bottle feed) because if baby isn't sucking correctly it will also cause a backflow once again blocking your ducts. 4- Every 3 hours I was taking inflavonoid intense (for it's Curcumin), followed by Echinacea and Vit C for immune function and probiotics. 17.01.2022 My dad had a crazy allergic reaction to God-knows-what and was scratching himself silly. Luckily his daughter came to visit in the nick of time. I quickly applied a poultice of oats and water and mixed it until it was a gluey substance. Then I applied it directly to the area that was affected and he immediately got relief. Usually, I would put it in a stocking, but it was an urgent situation. I also quickly put it in the microwave to mix it. It works for eczema also. Oats contain beta-glucans which makes it slimey and also cooling. So...there u have it folks home remedies!

Phase 1 detoxification is catalysed by enzymes referred to as the cytochrome P450 enzyme group: simply put this pathway converts a toxic chemical into a less harmful chemical. This is achieved by various chemical reactions (such as oxidation, reduction and hydrolysis), and during this process free radicals are produced which, if excessive, can damage the liver cells. White or apple cider depending where u use it can be used anywhere in the home. And don't worry that pungent smell goes when it dries. Plus it will force u to air out ur home . 15.01.2022 So people have all of a sudden taken a huge interest in their immune health since Covid. But here's why taking immune herbs aren't really effective. The immune system wouldn't be able to exist without the microbiome in the gut. The gut is the gateway to good health and if this foundation isn't stable and healthy...taking Zinc, Vit A and C won't do the trick, they will only help to facilitate the immune response.... Our immune system is reliant on the signals going to and from the gut bacteria which monitor invading pathogens and alert the defensive system if something is wrong. 14.01.2022 Another helpful tip. I know most people think of oats as a dish that should be served sweet. But have you ever tried putting it in soups? Or using it to replace quinoa if you run out? Yup. Oats can be eaten as a savoury dish too. I often put it in my soups instead of those little pasta pieces or if I've run out of quinoa. What's so good about oats? Other than it being delicious, it's filling, it's full of vitamins a minerals, it is what we call a nervine: which means it's go...od to nourish the nervous system. Its also great at lowering cholesterol as the fibre binds to the cholesterol and eliminates it in the stool. And lastly it's serves to bulk up the stool to avoid constipation. Now you know. Throw it in your dishes! It's very palatable and fussy kids usually don't have an issue with it. You can also use it to bulk up mince meat dishes i.e pasta meat sauce. 14.01.2022 GET rid of your recipe books...honestly... Kids on average have to taste things 6x before liking it. A2014 studywas one of the first to show that a flavor window exists. Researchers at the University of Birmingham found thatkids were most likely to accept a new vegetable they hadnt tastedpea puréebetweenfour and six months of age. So if you have missed that age...buying a whole bunch of new ingredients for one recipe and then getting frustrated because kids won't eat... it is very draining. For me, having teens in the house it's been terribly frustrating and I give up. So instead I use my usual recipes that I know kids like and make them "healthier". For e.g. pasta using meatballs adding shredded zucchini and carrots. Try this banana fertilizer made from banana peel. Take your discarded banana peel and place in a jar. Full with water and leave for about a week. Dilute with water. Some plants are more needful of nitrogen, while others are more needful of phosphorus, and still others need a higher level of potassium- banana peel have all t...hree. Our principles are patient-centred and concentrate on treating the cause whilst keeping in mind every individual is unique in their genetic makeup. If you walk away from a consult with 20different supplements...I would urge you to reconsider returning. As any industry we have good practicing Naturopaths and terrible one's. If they show an attentive ear, provide you with small changes, you know it's not just about filling their pockets.

10.01.2022 DO NOT VACCINATE Is what u expect from me as a Naturopath Im sure. This is and I think always will b a topic of contention. And it should always be open to discussion and criticism. ... So Ive just had my third baby and was wondering what stand I would take this time. My first child reacted badly to the MMR vaccine (about 13years ago) His face swelled up and so did his arm. He looked like he got the mumps. My second child took it like a champ. No reactions no concern. So I wondered what the difference was. So... despite the impending anger this might cause some of my fellow anti vaxxers- here it is. The fact is vaccines save lives. Its undeniable. Find me evidence where it says otherwise. Do vaccine cause autism? Thats the real cause of anger for antivaxxers. Now you might find this interesting. The only scientist who linked the MMR vaccine with Autism was found out to have skewed the data and was discredited, but you can find all that out in the literature yourself. This website is unbiased and has no association with pro or anti vaccine lobbies www.vaccines.procon.org and read on the pros and cons of vaccination. So whats the deal with Autism and vaccines? Dr Mark Hyman has a very interesting explanation of heavy metals and vaccines and I would go have a read on his blog (https://drhyman.com//how-to-rid-your-body-of-mercury-and-/) There have been studies done specifically on this and the link is due to poor or compromised gut lining. Children born with poor liver and gut issues ie. Leaky gut are the ones having the reactions to vaccines causing Autism. This certainly explains why my older son reacted and my younger one didnt (he was later diagnosed with leaky gut and pyrroles). So, the vaccine is perhaps the push over the edge. The other parable I would like to draw is the fact that our daily lives expose us to much much more toxins/mercury and heavy metals than a single shot of a vaccine does. 09.01.2022 DONT TELL THE KIDS! One of my kids dont like mushrooms, the other doesnt like eggplant and the other always wants meat! So what do you do? Decieve them ofcourse I made a cheat lasagna and my kids were non the wiser. No meat. Using: eggplant , mushrooms, capsicums and sweet potato and blend it all!... 09.01.2022 Why do we continue to waste money on cleaning products?? Yes...its not sexy but it works. Im talking about good old Vinegar. White or apple cider depending where u use it can be used anywhere in the home. And dont worry that pungent smell goes when it dries. Plus it will force u to air out ur home . Stop getting sucked into the cleaning product scams and use good old fashioned elbow grease and Vinegar.

03.01.2022 Mental health is the biggest issue in the western world costing the economy billions of dollars each year. Suffering severe anxiety for some years, I hated myself for not being strong enough to deal with my crisis. I was always prone to anxiety growing up- meeting new people, being confronted, being in the spotlight etc But nothing like this...my divorce really tested my mental health. ... After many years of being on antidepressants I came to realize, the tablets didn't really stop my anxiety at all. My anxiety came from having an unsettled heart and mind. Anxious about the future or rather history repeating itself. Which came from not really understanding or appreciating Allah SWT's plan. When you really understand that your Qadr is written and certain tragedies were meant for you, your heart rests knowing that. You stop the self blame and the anger and you accept whatever comes your way good or bad. Learning this and really absorbing this concept is what helped my anxiety. Allah swt tells us "verily in the remembrance of Allah swt do hearts find rest" but we don't really understand the extent of that one simple line. Honestly, nothing will ever bring tour comfort in this world unless you come close TO Allah swt and relax your heart with his remembrance. And that is why I will never be the practitioner to advocate against antidepressants because they saved my life. If you have tried everything and it fails- don't be afraid of antidepressants. Talk to a good doctor who won't just hand then out like candy and who will find the right fit for you. I like to work with the western system and not... against...better results can be achieved in collaboration. 02.01.2022 Part 2- DO NOT VACCINATE The reality is children are born with heavy metals already in their system due to your daily exposures. We see this in many studies done on the analysis's of a mother's umbilical cord. There are natural exposures to heavy metals thru what we eat and what we breath and then there are man made one's. And having read the evidence (im assuming you have read the references I've posted) where do you do from here? If your child seems to b more sensitive than others and u suspect gut issues, perhaps delay vaccination until he is a bit more able. I chose to do the necessary vaccines and opt out of the "updated" ones such as the flu vaccine and others that are not life threatening. Why? Because getting your immune system exposed to the real deal makes it alot stronger than a vaccine could. Natural immunity is no doubt much better. Fix your child's gut issues. Clean their body of any neurotoxins and support their immune system daily. Start with your own health. Ensure good liver and gut function whilst you are pregnant and before hand. This will help ensure your baby has good health overall. Lastly, there is good and bad in everything. You have to weigh it up for yourself. But don't look at one piece of evidence and make up your mind. Look at both arguments to truly make an informed decision. Don't look at one line a Naturopath outlines as evidence for her/his argument and say this is truth. That's incredibly bias and unethical. At the end of the day...we have to make the decisions and live with them.
