24.01.2022 Congratulations Brian, Heather, Stacey & Andrew on the success over the weekend at the ATV Victorian Championship State selections held at the State Netball & Hockey Centre in Melbourne. The team brought home 7 Gold, 2 Silver & 2 Bronze. A great effort by all who will now complete in the Australian National Taekwondo Championships in 2 weeks to be held at Bendigo. Well done to Andrew, his first time competing at State level.

23.01.2022 We all loved being back at training on Tuesday & Thursday, whilst following COVID-19 restrictions, it was still great to see and train with everyone, even if classes were a little different for now. As most classes are now full, we are still taking enquiries for bookings. Also we had the opportunity to present Jose Carberry with his World Taekwondo recognised1st Degree Black Belt certificate qualification, after he achieved his black belt late last year. Well done Jose!.

21.01.2022 Congrats to Royce & Ruby Hoban for achieving their 1st Degree Black Belt & receiving their World Taekwondo Federation Kukkiwon Certificates. That makes it 7 Black belts in the Hoban family!!!

21.01.2022 Wow - what a fantastic grading day today. We had everything, some great coloured belts, Black Belts pLUs one honour board!!!!! Well done to each and everyone of you. Special congratulations to David Tull - 1st DAN, Declan Schwager ,3rd Poom and Staci Jones 3rd DAN Black Belts today. A true and excellent display of your commitment to training.

20.01.2022 The STV State Selection event wil be held at the State Netball Hockey Centre on Sunday 3rd September. If you have registered with Australian Taekwondo this year, you are eligible to compete to qualify for the National Championships in Bendigo - Oct 6th-8th. A Tournament pack will be released soon.

18.01.2022 Hello Everyone, we hope you are staying positive and finding ways to keep up some Taekwondo practice, even if only in your backyard, garage or some space at home. We have posted some great pics of the grading last week PLUS well recognised presentation to Andrew ,Paul & Stuart (absent) receiving Life Membership to Maryborough Martial Arts for their outstanding commitment & contribution to training and taekwondo over the last 20 years. 17.01.2022 Claire Jennings was presented with her 3rd DAN Kukkiwon Certificate on Thursday night and congratulated by Heather & Paul. Her 3rd Degree Black Belt is recognised worldwide. We wish Claire, Matt & BJ all the best in Geelong for the future.

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Brian, Heather, Stacey & Andrew - 13 Australian National Championship medals - 5 Gold, 6 Silver & 2 Bronze from the Australian Taekwondo Nationals held in Bendigo. Brian & Heather also completed in the Self Defence division and narrowly missed winning gold, awarded the Silver medal. A great effort by all, representing Maryborough Martial Arts.

17.01.2022 What an excellent grading day from everyone today who achieved their next grading. Caleb, Lucas and Charlotte - our new Red Belts were amazing. You all were fantastic and showed us a high level today. We wish you all a safe Easter break. There are no junior classes next week but senior classes are running on Tuesday & Thursday. Well done!

16.01.2022 Well done to David, Rebecca, Staci, Declan & Hugh who all competed last weekend at the State Selection Championships in Melbourne. The team brought home 1 Gold, 4 Silver & 1 Bronze. All have qualified for the Australian National Taekwondo Championships to be held in Bendigo in October.

16.01.2022 Great news, we are back training at the Maryborough Sports and Fitness Centre. Junior class 4.30pm - 5.30pm & Senior class 7.15pm - 8.15pm. Tuesday & Thursday. Due to COVID restricted numbers, you MUST BOOK FOR A CLASS (if you have not already done so). Please call Brian on - 0409189736 OR Heather on - 0400 498 056 to book. There are still some spots available for both juniors and seniors. We will also continue to update as more restrictions ease.

10.01.2022 Last weekend our team of David, Rebecca, Staci, Declan, Hugh & Heather & Brian were successful at the Australian Taekwondo National Cships in Bendigo bringing home 7 gold, 4 silver & 1 bronze medals. Well done to everyone that competed & a big thank you to our support group who came to watch & cheer us on.

Also congratulations to Brian, Heather, Staci & Rebecca who last weekend brought home 6 gold, 4 silver & 3 bronze at the Australian Taekwondo National Championships held at Carrara Stadium on the Gold Coast. What a great team effort.

07.01.2022 What a fantastic grading day. Yes it was cold, but the standard was hot stuff!!!! Well done to everyone, on what was a pleasure to experience. Congratulations to Jose who graded to Cho Dan Bo with an excellent display of technique, self defence and skill. We are looking forward to his black belt grading. NO junior class next week, but seniors will be on. Then next term commences, Tues 16th July & Thurs 18th July. Stay Warm.....!

04.01.2022 One of our Students - Felicity Rentsch who is 11 years old, is currently fundraising to take part in the Worlds Greatest Shave for the Leukaemia Foundation & she will be shaving her head. Her goal is to raise $1000 by March 2020 to raise money to donate to the Leukaemia Foundation. Felicitys grandmother had lymphoma and lost all of her hair, so on the 13th March 2020, Felicity will shave her head in support. 01.01.2022 Congratulations to Stacey, Andrew, Brian, Heather & Rebecca who represented Maryborough Martial Arts last Sunday at the ATV State Selections. They are now qualified to compete at the Australian Taekwondo National Championships to be held in September on the Gold Coast. 11 Gold medals for the day was a great result for our country club. All are back into training for the September event.

01.01.2022 Due to current COVID-19 restrictions in place from 11.59pm 5th August, there will be no Taekwondo classes until further notice. We hope to resume sometime in September. We all enjoyed a session last night at training and it was a pleasure to present Declan Schwager with his 3rd Degree Black Belt World Taekwondo Certificate. Declan is pictured with Brian who acknowledged Declan's great achievement for someone of such a young age. Congratulations to Declan from us all. Stay safe and fit and keep up the Taekwondo Spirit, we will see you all soon.
