22.01.2022 Fraser Coast Open for Business - Buy Local Gift Card The Buy Local Gift Card is an initiative which encourages residents and visitors to shop locally and help b...uild a stronger united Fraser Coast business community. The campaign was launched by the Fraser Coast Regional Council with the Maryborough Chamber of Commerce, Tiaro & District Chamber of Commerce and Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce to help stimulate the Fraser Coast economy following the COVID-19 pandemic. Buying local is the best way for people to support Fraser Coast businesses, great for local jobs and great for our local communities. There has been over $46,000 worth of cards sold already and one local business has had more than $3,000 cashed in at their tills, that’s fantastic! There is no cost involved for businesses to participate, all you need is an EFTPOS terminal. Anyone can purchase a buy local gift card at any time, they aren’t just for Christmas. The program will run for at least three years. Businesses interested in joining the program can sign up through the Council webpage https://www.frasercoast.qld.gov.au/open-business-buy-local- or email [email protected] to receive further information and express their interest. 12.01.2022 Public Health Alerts for Sunshine Coast and Brisbane Public Health Alert: Sunshine Coast Following further contact tracing work today, Queensland Health h...as expanded its list of venues where a confirmed COVID-19 case has visited. Contact tracing is currently underway with the Public Health Unit contacting those determined to be close contacts directly.
