25.01.2022 Today’s session of our Cancer Support Program was graced by two gentlemen from the Fraser Coast Bonsai Group, Taffy Haine and Rod Whiting. The ‘Bonsai Demonstration’ and educational presentation provided basic details on how to get started. To get involved and for more details, the group meets every first Sunday of the month at the Cricket Club in Maryborough. It was great to see regular participants and we welcome new attendees today, once again for this session our delicious morning tea was kindly donated by the Lioness Club of Maryborough. Thanks to all for making today a special session!

Share important aspects of daily life from migration experience, customs communication, food and diet, health and ageing, to death and dying. 21.01.2022 ‘LEARN HOW TO LINE DANCE’ WORKSHOP: Our ladies are having fun and learning how to line dance at the same time! This new program ‘Learn how to line dance...’ is proving to be a hit! The workshop is now full, but depending on the outcome of this ‘test run’ we may schedule more workshops in the near future! Thank you Leah Matthews for facilitating.

17.01.2022 ‘Nutritious Snacks’, this is this morning’s topic for the Cancer Support Group. Mrs Jenni Saunders graciously accepted our invitation to conduct a demonstration on how to prepare a variety of protein balls, vegetable slice, mango smoothie and more...all made with natural ingredients! An easy to follow recipe was also provided. All recipes aimed to provide an easy and nutritious alternative if you are craving for something sweet, and easy to prepare food that is satisfying and healthy! If you know anyone who will benefit from our Cancer Support Group please refer them to us or ring the centre for more information.
16.01.2022 The Sewing Circle is gearing up for the Christmas Season! Under the supervision of Volunteer Coordinator Jenni, the ladies are hard at work creating items to sell to raise funds for the centre and in doing so, learning a lot of techniques and honing their skills in the process. A Sewing for Beginners will commence soon. Watch this space for more details!

14.01.2022 'Learn How to Line Dance' Workshop for absolute beginners. Our test run for this new program is done and dusted and now implementing our first 4-session workshop. THE NEXT BATCH WILL START 1 June up to 22 June 2021, a total of four weeks, once a week on a Tuesday from 4.00 to 5.30 pm. Registration is a must and places are limited. 09.01.2022 Jean is our English Tutor for the English Mentoring for Migrants under the Adult Community Education/Migrant Development Programs. Find out more about Jean and the English Program including the online English Practice Lessons that she has put together in this video below. The program continues to support MIGRANT members of the community who may benefit from this type of service. The program is provided at no cost to participants, but registration and assessment is necessary to ensure it is the right program for interested participants.
