25.01.2022 The Drawing Room known as the Colin Archer Room was charming. It faced the fjord and was full of natural light. The walls were painted a soft duck egg blue and the original cornice border paper was faithfully reproduced in a multi-hued blue acanthus leaf scroll. Just delightful. The photos show the original paper Drawing Room, the restored Drawing Room and the restoration team.

18.01.2022 The Morning room was used by the family for breakfast. It too, had a view down to the Fjord. The wall is hung with photographs of the Archer Family. The door panels were painted with charming images of fruits and flowers we think, by Sandy Archer.

18.01.2022 During my recent travels OS I visited my ancestral home, Tolderodden which is beautifully set on a promontory on the Olsen fjord Norway. It was amazing! In recent years a historical foundation has been established to undertake a faithful restoration of the building back to the decorative 18th century interiors. It was thrilling to find a number of wall coverings under layers of plaster and wallpaper revealing the charm of this home nearly 2 centuries ago. I would love to share the unveiling of this home with you. This is a painting of Tolderodden in the 19th century!

11.01.2022 The Dining Room was decorated rather dramatically in tones of green blue and gold. The cornice was swagged with a painted fresco of festooned fabrics with elaborate trimmings. The photos show the original paper border and the restored decorative detail in the dining room.

07.01.2022 Fortunate to be working in Como, Italy this week. Came across a little hidden gem in town when on a hunt for flowers. Breathtaking find!!

05.01.2022 The Sitting Room is decorated with a bold flocked paper in a large arabesque design. It is surprising such a dramatic design should be used adjacent to the simpler adjoining rooms. The ceilings were heavily painted with classical patterns. The images show how the restoration was faithfully recreated by the restoration team.
