25.01.2022 It's National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Children's Day! Students at Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School, Eagle Vale celebrated the day and i...ts theme: 'We are the Elders of tomorrow, hear our voice' by gathering together as a whole school community for a special flag-raising ceremony and assembly; writing and drawing what culture means to them in class; and listening to special messages about the day's significance. Bookmarks were also given to every student to commemorate the occasion. Well done, Mary Immaculate! cc SNAICC-National Voice for our Children #NATSIChildrensDay2020 #ChildrensDay2020 #EldersOfTomorrow #StrongInCulture

20.01.2022 Dear Parents, Thank you for the wonderful response to Phase 1 for the transition of students back to school. It was great to be able to see students we haven’t seen in a very long time. We have had a huge influx of students return to school today and in speaking to the students this morning very few of them knew which day was their scheduled day to attend school.... To assist, each student will bring home a card with this information. If you are unsure of your child’s scheduled day please do not hesitate to contact the school office. A daily Compass alert will be sent as a reminder of which colour student team should attend. I would like to reassure parents that while the school remains open every day for all students who need to attend, we encourage you to keep your child/ren home wherever possible on the days they are not scheduled to attend. This will help us enormously to balance and manage the total number of students on site each day On scheduled attendance days, students will be interacting with teachers in a classroom setting. It may not always be possible for students to have their usual class teacher during this transition period. On the days they are not scheduled to attend, students will continue to access remote learning experiences and resources on Google Classroom from a different location. Remote learning should be accessed from home wherever possible, however, as mentioned above the school remains open for those students who are unable to stay home. As the school is not operating as normal, grade allocated sport days are not happening. Parents may choose to send students to school in either their full Winter uniform or full sport uniform on their scheduled day. Thank you for your continuing support in assisting us to ensure all members of our community stay safe during this difficult time. See more

03.01.2022 This week and last, our school community has been celebrating National NAIDOC Week! Annual community celebrations across Australia are normally held each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples but due to COVID-19, #NAIDOCWeek2020 was delayed until November. Our students have had the opportunity to participate in a number of cultural awareness activities including storytelling, history lessons, an arte...fact talk, Indigenous games, bead-making and animal mask-making We are deeply indebted to Mrs Grados for her leadership of this school initiative and to our School Support Officers and our colleagues from Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong for supporting the delivery of the various sessions. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOC #NAIDOCWeek #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe
