19.01.2022 Hi all. As per our most recent covid safe plan, we are back at a limit of 45 people in the premises. To keep within these limits, Miss Lockwood has asked for parents to return to not entering the building unless absolutely necessary. We also need a covid marshall, which Miss Lockwood has done a short course to be able to be Maryke Dance Academy's marshal, to ensure everyone is complying with the rules and social distancing. This is a minor setback, but it's for the safety of everyone. We are lucky to be still dancing and are grateful for everyone's understanding and patience during these past few months

14.01.2022 And just like that term 3 is over! It has been great being back in the studio again. We will now take a 2 week break and resume classes again on Monday October 12. Notes have been given to each student this week, but in case the note didn't make it home, or you weren't at class this week, we have made the tough decision to postpone our 35th anniversary concert that was scheduled for December. The current numbers of audience members allowed and how many students per dressing r...oom won't be able to cater for all our students and families. We couldn't wait any longer to give an answer, as the theatre and videographer needed to know whether or not to book other events, and Glenda our costume maker needed to know when to start planning for costumes. We are hoping to still showcase our routines that we have been working on this term, whether it be hosting our concert in the early months of 2021, a school showcase, or doing our routines in the mid-year eisteddfod. In term 4 we will still work on these routines, while also incorporating more exam work for the ballet and tap classes. Hopefully by next year we are allowed more audience members to make it all more worthwhile. We thank you for your understanding and support, and can't wait to all be together again in term 4

14.01.2022 Unfortunately, as of tonight at midnight dance and other indoor sports have been cancelled due to the recent COVID19 outbreak in SA. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support throughout this year and wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas. We look forward to seeing you back in 2021

13.01.2022 This is our last week of a very short term! We usually invite parents to watch during the final week of term, but to comply with social distancing we have cancelled viewing week for this term. On a higher note, things have been running so smooth and well upon return to classes! Thank you to everyone for the parts you have all played in keeping the studio and families safe. We will advise you of any COVID updates over the holidays to ensure another smooth return back in term 3

11.01.2022 So far we have had a successful week and a bit back at dancing! Thank you to all students and parents who have cooperated with these current restrictions, it means so much that we are all working together to follow the guidelines despite how frustrating it can be at times. If you have decided to wait until the new term to start back, please let Miss Lockwood know! We have had a few no-shows over the last week, so please confirm if you are intending on returning or not

10.01.2022 And that's term 2 done! What better way to kick off school holidays than eating these gorgeous biscuits that one of our families gave Miss Lockwood today! Courtesy of Wee Bites Good news- with recent COVID updates it will allow us to go back to normal as of term 3! Which means, adult ballet and tap classes are back from Wednesday July 22! Restrictions have been lifted to 1 person per 2 metres squared, so we look forward to seeing our adults back in the studio! We will keep you updated with new information over the next few weeks, so stay tuned

08.01.2022 Today's the day! We are so excited to be reopening! Please make sure you are aware of your class times and these points from my post a few days ago: Don't arrive early or leave late. If you do come early we ask you wait in your car until class time If you have a break between classes, please leave and come back or wait in the car to comply with the 20 person limit in the studio Parents please wait for your children in your car to comply with the 20 person limit in the s...tudio The dressing room has been temporarily blocked off so please arrive for class already in your dancewear Please bring your own water bottles and deodorants If you are unwell, please stay home! We cannot wait to see your smiling faces this week, and hope that everyone complies with the new normal until we can lift restrictions further. See you tonight!

04.01.2022 Hey everyone! We have exciting news! We have made the decision to reopen the doors on Monday June 8th! There are some businesses who are allowed to reopen on the 1st, and we believe some other local studios are opening then, but we have decided to play it safe and wait until the original planned date of the 8th. We will still obviously be strict with social distancing and hygiene, with hand sanitiser available to all students and regular cleaning of the studio as well as keep...ing them the recommended distance apart. With most of our classes being smaller we will be able to easily host classes without the students breaking the 1.5m distance. Miss Lockwood is also keen to recommence her private lessons. If you had a private lesson before we closed and would like to continue, please let us know to confirm your day and time. See you all on the 8th!

04.01.2022 Hi all! Term 3 is starting tomorrow and we just wanted to let everyone know the plan going forward this term Things are back to normal! You no longer have to wait in your cars before class as the waiting room and dressing room are now open again. Please still be mindful of social distancing though! Please still bring your own water bottles and deodorants, and please still remain at home if you're feeling unwell.... Restrictions have been lifted on how many students are allowed in each class so we no longer have to split any classes in half. This means that the second studio is now available again to be booked for practice sessions. Please write your name on the new time sheet on the door to secure your time if you wish to do so. We will keep you updated on any changes, but for now this is the plan! We can't wait to see you all and soon get cracking on the concert!
