24.01.2022 Prayer for exam anxiety (a prayer for God's peace to come) Heavenly Father,... Only your peace can sustain me through the anxiety and stresses of exam nerves. Your peace surpasses all understanding. I ask for this gift and choose to lean upon you at this time. Lord, come and remind me of your unfailing love. Remind me that you hold me safe, you understand me, and you cherish me. I lay down my fears before you. I leave them at the foot of the cross, for you have overcome the world. I choose to give you all my concerns, worries and fears of failure. I trust that your loving hand will hold me through these exams and lead into a bright future.

24.01.2022 Daily Mass Readings - TUESDAY OF THE TWENTY-FIFTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR 2, 22nd September 2020. Entrance Antiphon I am the salvation of the people, says the Lord.... Should they cry to me in any distress, I will hear them, and I will be their Lord for ever. First Reading Prv 21:1-6. 10-13 A reading from the book of Proverbs Various proverbs. Like flowing water is the heart of the king in the hand of the Lord, who turns it where he pleases. A mans conduct may strike him as upright, the Lord, however, weighs the heart. To act virtuously and with justice is more pleasing to the Lord than sacrifice. Haughty eye, proud heart, lamp of the wicked, nothing but sin. The hardworking man is thoughtful, and all is gain; too much haste, and all that comes of it is want. To make a fortune with the help of a lying tongue, such the idle fantasy of those who look for death. The wicked mans soul is intent on evil, he looks on his neighbour with dislike. When a mocker is punished, the ignorant man grows wiser, when a wise man is instructed he acquires more knowledge. The Just One watches the house of the wicked: he hurls the wicked to destruction. He who shuts his ear to the poor mans cry shall himself plead and not be heard. Responsorial Psalm Ps 118:1. 27. 30. 34-35. 44. R. v.35 (R.) Guide me, Lord, in the way of your commands. 1. They are happy whose life is blameless, who follow Gods law! Make me grasp the way of your precepts and I will muse on your wonders. (R.) 2. I have chosen the way of truth with your decrees before me. Train me to observe your law, to keep it with my heart. (R.) 3. Guide me in the path of your commands; for there is my delight. I shall always keep your law for ever and ever. (R.) Gospel Acclamation Lk 11:28 Alleluia, alleluia! Blessed are they who hear the word of God and keep it. Alleluia! Gospel Lk 8:19-21 A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it into practice. The mother and brothers of Jesus came looking for him, but they could not get to him because of the crowd. He was told, Your mother and brothers are standing outside and want to see you. But he said in answer, My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and put it into practice. Communion Antiphon Ps 118:4-5 You have laid down your precepts to be carefully kept; may my ways be firm in keeping your statutes. or Jn 10:14 I am the Good Shepherd, says the Lord; I know my sheep, and mine know me.

23.01.2022 THE EXAMIN ST IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA The Examin is a wonderful prayer/method written by St Ignatius of Loyola to assist get in touch with the presence of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives along with those spirits that divide and do violence to others. It enables us to be self-reflective and provides us with a framework for spiritual growth.... Welcome to a new take on a 500-year-old prayer. Reimagining the Examen is a fresh and customized prayer experience inspired by St. Ignatiuss Examen, a practice that helps you review your day with God The Examin brings clarity, mindfulness, and grace, and invites God into your nitty-gritty. What is the Examen? St. Ignatius of Loyola created the Examen to be a very short prayer that can be prayed at any time. In the Examen, we bring our recent past to find God and his blessings in our daily life. Ignatius would say that the Examen should be the most important moment of our day, because this moment affects every other moment. How Do I Pray the Examen? There are five simple steps to the Examen: Relish the moments that went well and all of the gifts you have today. Request that the Spirit lead you through your review of the day. Review your day. Repent of any mistakes or failures. Resolve, in concrete ways, to live tomorrow well. Benefits The Examen brings Gods presence into the mud and muck of our day. It helps: unite you even closer to God; reveal Gods perspective on your everyday life; stir you to praise God for the countless gifts that have popped up in your day, and to find Gods presence in those gifts; give you an opportunity to recognize and apologize for your faults, and to grieve your failures and hurts and receive healing from them; bring insight into what is really going on beneath the surface of your thoughts, words, and actionsinto the very source of your motivations; you discern how to handle the trickier aspects of your life, to know what gifts you need from God to do the right thing tomorrow, and to ask God for those gifts explicitly.

22.01.2022 Caring for creation has always been an important part of Christian living, from the beginning and throughout history. Pope Francis said, Creation is not a property, which we can rule over at will; or, even less, is the property of only a few: Creation is a gift, it is a wonderful gift that God has given us, so that we care for it and we use it for the benefit of all, always with great respect and gratitude. And since the promulgation of Pope Francis encyclical letter, Laud...Continue reading

22.01.2022 HEALING PRAYER BY PADRE PIO Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me. I thank you for sending your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ,... to the world to save and to set me free. I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me. Loving Father, touch me now with your healing hands, for I believe that your will is for me to be well in mind, body, soul and spirit. Cover me with the most precious blood of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Cast anything that should not be in me. Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells. Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish any damaged areas. Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the power of Jesus precious blood. Let the fire of your healing love pass through my entire body to heal and make new any diseased areas so that my body will function the way you created it to function. Touch also my mind and my emotion, even the deepest recesses of my heart. Saturate my entire being with your presence, love, joy, and peace and draw me ever closer to you every moment of my life. And Father, fill me with your Holy Spirit and empower me to do your works so that my life will bring glory and honor to your holy name. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen HEALING

22.01.2022 FRIDAY OF THE TWENTY-FIFTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR 2, 25th September Mass.

21.01.2022 Daily Mass Readings - FRIDAY OF THE TWENTY-FIFTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR 2, 25th September 2020. Entrance Antiphon I am the salvation of the people, says the Lord.... Should they cry to me in any distress, I will hear them, and I will be their Lord for ever. First Reading Eccl 3:1-11 A reading from the book of Ecclesiastes There is a time for everything under heaven. There is a season for everything, a time for every occupation under heaven: A time for giving birth, a time for dying; a time for planting, a time for uprooting what has been planted. A time for killing, a time for healing; a time for knocking down, a time for building. A time for tears, a time for laughter; a time for mourning, a time for dancing. A time for throwing stones away, a time for gathering them up; a time for embracing, a time to refrain from embracing. A time for searching, a time for losing; a time for keeping, a time for throwing away. A time for tearing, a time for sewing; a time for keeping silent, a time for speaking. A time for loving, a time for hating; a time for war, a time for peace. What does a man gain for the efforts that he makes? I contemplate the task that God gives mankind to labour at. All that he does is apt for its time; but though he has permitted man to consider time in its wholeness, man cannot comprehend the work of God from beginning to end. Responsorial Psalm Ps 143:1-4. R. v.1 (R.) Blessed be the Lord, my Rock! 1. Blessed be the Lord, my rock. He is my love, my fortress; he is my stronghold, my saviour, my shield, my place of refuge. (R.) 2. Lord, what is man that you care for him, mortal man, that you keep him in mind; man, who is merely a breath whose life fades like a passing shadow? (R.) Gospel Acclamation Mk 10:45 Alleluia, alleluia! The Son of Man came to serve and to give his life as a ransom for all. Alleluia! Gospel Lk 9:18-22 A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke You are the Christ of God. The Son of Man must suffer much. One day when Jesus was praying alone in the presence of his disciples he put this question to them, Who do the crowds say I am? And they answered, John the Baptist; others Elijah; and others say one of the ancient prophets come back to life. But you, he said who do you say I am? It was Peter who spoke up. The Christ of God he said. But he gave them strict orders not to tell anyone anything about this. The Son of Man he said is destined to suffer grievously, to be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes and to be put to death, and to be raised up on the third day. Communion Antiphon Ps 118:4-5 You have laid down your precepts to be carefully kept; may my ways be firm in keeping your statutes. or Jn 10:14 I am the Good Shepherd, says the Lord; I know my sheep, and mine know me.

17.01.2022 DAILY MEDITATION | SEPTEMBER 22, 2020 Memories of Paradise : Henri Nouwen. I know that the fact that I am always searching for God, always struggling to discover the fullness of Love, always yearning for the complete truth, tells me that I have already been given a taste of God, of Love, and of Truth. I can only look for something that I have, to some degree, already found. How can I search for beauty and truth unless that beauty and truth are already known to me in the depth... of my heart? It seems that all of us human beings have deep inner memories of the paradise that we have lost. Maybe the word innocence is better than the word paradise. We were innocent before we started feeling guilty; we were in the light before we entered into the darkness; we were at home before we started to search for a home. Deep in the recesses of our minds and hearts there lies hidden the treasure we seek. We know its preciousness, and we know that it holds the gift we most desire: a life stronger than death.

15.01.2022 Daily Mass Readings - THURSDAY OF THE TWENTY-FIFTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR 2, 24th September 2020. Entrance Antiphon I am the salvation of the people, says the Lord.... Should they cry to me in any distress, I will hear them, and I will be their Lord for ever. First Reading Eccl 1:2-11 A reading from the book of Ecclesiastes There is nothing new under the sun. Vanity of vanities, the Preacher says. Vanity of vanities. All is vanity! For all his toil, his toil under the sun, what does man gain by it? A generation goes, a generation comes, yet the earth stands firm for ever. The sun rises, the sun sets; then to its place it speeds and there it rises. Southward goes the wind, then turns to the north; it turns and turns again; back then to its circling goes the wind. Into the sea all the rivers go, and yet the sea is never filled, and still to their goal the rivers go. All things are wearisome. No man can say that eyes have not had enough of seeing, ears their fill of hearing. What was will be again; what has been done will be done again; and there is nothing new under the sun. Take anything of which it may be said, Look now, this is new. Already, long before our time, it existed. Only no memory remains of earlier times, just as in times to come next year itself will not be remembered. Responsorial Psalm Ps 89:3-6. 12-14. 17. R. v.1 (R.) In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge. 1. You turn men back into dust and say: Go back, sons of men. To your eyes a thousand years are like yesterday, come and gone, no more than a watch in the night. (R.) 2. You sweep men away like a dream, like grass which springs up in the morning. In the morning it springs up and flowers: by evening it withers and fades. (R.) 3. Make us know the shortness of our life that we may gain wisdom of heart. Lord, relent! Is your anger for ever? Show pity to your servants. (R.) 4. In the morning, fill us with your love; we shall exult and rejoice all our days. Let the favour of the Lord be upon us: give success to the work of our hands. (R.) Gospel Acclamation Jn 14:6 Alleluia, alleluia! I am the way, the truth, and the life, says the Lord; no one comes to the Father, except through me. Alleluia! Gospel Lk 9:7-9 A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke I beheaded John, so who is this I hear so much about? Herod the tetrarch had heard about all that was being done by Jesus; and he was puzzled, because some people were saying that John had risen from the dead, others that Elijah had reappeared, still others that one of the ancient prophets had come back to life. But Herod said, John? I beheaded him. So who is this I hear such reports about? And he was anxious to see Jesus. Communion Antiphon Ps 118:4-5 You have laid down your precepts to be carefully kept; may my ways be firm in keeping your statutes. or Jn 10:14 I am the Good Shepherd, says the Lord; I know my sheep, and mine know me.

10.01.2022 DAILY MEDITATION | SEPTEMBER 23, 2020 : Henri Nouwen Presence and Absence One of the mysteries of life is that memory can often bring us closer to each other than can physical presence. Physical presence not only invites but also blocks communication.... In our pre-resurrection state our bodies hide as much as they reveal. Indeed, many of our disappointments and frustrations in life are related to the fact that seeing and touching each other does not always create the closeness we seek. The more experience in living we have, the more we sense that closeness grows in the continuous interplay between presence and absence.

08.01.2022 For PRAYER AND REFLECTION 24TH SEPTEMBER 2020 Prayer for inner peace and happiness Dear Lord,... Your love in me is like a flame that burns within my heart, Giving light to all I do and everything that I am. Sometimes it dances in my soul as I praise your name. At times it dims or flickers low when hard times come my way. Even in the darkest hours I sense your light afresh, Reminding me to trust in you. Be still and wait and rest my soul! For every flame needs gentle fuel. Your love is the key, For keeping this little candle burning alight in me. It guides my life, my thoughts, my dreams, And shines for all to see. Thank you for the happiness and peace you give to me. Prayer for inner peace and strength O Father, Your life in me brings stillness to my turmoil. Your life in me brings clarity to my confusion. Your life in me brings wisdom to my worry. Your life in me brings contentment to my striving. You life in me brings gentleness to my anger. Your life in me brings patience to my panic. Your life in me brings hope to my suffering. Your life in me brings faith to my frustration. Your life in me brings such heavenly treasure into my heart And enables me to navigate a peaceful path. In you I find strength for my journey. Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel." (Philippians 4:6-7, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Jn 14:27 Prayer for inner peace and calm (a prayer for calmness with nerves and anxiety) Holy Spirit, please encircle me, Come hold me safe and secure. Wrap my mind up with your truth Guide my thoughts and calm my fears. Steady my emotions, Lord that you would guide my feelings, May I not be overcome by upset. Sustain my soul, With vision for the future, And hope for tomorrow. I need you. Amen. Let us carry each other in our hearts! Fr Chris S

05.01.2022 Daily Mass Readings - SATURDAY OF THE THIRTY-FOURTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR 2, 28th November 2020. Entrance Antiphon Cf. Ps 84:9... The Lord speaks of peace to his people and his holy ones and to those who turn to him. First Reading Rv 22:1-7 A reading from the book of the Apocalypse It will never be night again, because the Lord God will shine on them. The angel showed me, John, the river of life, rising from the throne of God and of the Lamb and flowing crystal-clear down the middle of the city street. On either side of the river were the trees of life which bear twelve crops of fruit in a year, one in each month, and the leaves of which are the cure for the pagans. The ban will be lifted. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in its place in the city; his servants will worship him, they will see him face to face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. It will never be night again and they will not need lamplight or sunlight, because the Lord God will be shining on them. They will reign for ever and ever. The angel said to me, ‘All that you have written is sure and will come true: the Lord God who gives the spirit to the prophets has sent his angel to reveal to his servants what is soon to take place. Very soon now, I shall be with you again.’ Happy are those who treasure the prophetic message of this book. Responsorial Psalm Ps 94:1-7. R. 1 Cor 16:22; Rv 22:20 (R.) Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus! 1 Come, ring out our joy to the Lord; hail the rock who saves us. Let us come before him, giving thanks, with songs let us hail the Lord. (R.) 2. A mighty God is the Lord, a great king above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his. To him belongs the sea, for he made it and the dry land shaped by his hands. (R.) 3. Come in; let us bow and bend low; let us kneel before the God who made us for his is our God and we the people who belong to his pasture, the flock that is led by his hand. (R.) Gospel Acclamation Lk 21:36 Alleluia, alleluia! Be watchful, pray constantly, that you may be worthy to stand before the Son of the Man. Alleluia! Gospel Lk 21:34-36 A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke Stay awake, that you might have the strength to survive all that is going to happen. Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened with debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will be sprung on you suddenly, like a trap. For it will come down on every living man on the face of the earth. Stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen, and to stand with confidence before the Son of Man.’ Communion Antiphon Ps 116:1,2 O praise the Lord, all you nations, for his merciful love towards us is great. or Mt 28:20 Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age, says the Lord.

05.01.2022 Sunday 27th September is World Day of Migrants and Refugees In his Message for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees 2020, Pope Francis reminds us, If we encounter them, we will get to know more about them. And knowing their stories, we will be able to understand them. We will be able to understand, for example, that the precariousness that we have come to experience as a result of this pandemic is a constant in the lives of displaced people.
