24.01.2022 A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Hall for their ongoing support of mulch. All these much needed tools and equipment were purchased through the Club's generous donation earlier this year. #mulch #Marymead #donation #thankyou

23.01.2022 Today is National Tree Day. In 2019 we were privileged to have Canberra Toyota select mulch to support for National Tree Day. They funded us to create a native garden and also some citrus trees. Attached are some photos of the native garden being planted by Canberra Toyota staff alongside participants. One year on and the garden looks amazing! Scroll through the photos to see what it looks like now! Thanks again Canberra Toyota.... #mulch #marymead #NationalTreeDay #natives #fromlittlethingsbigthingsgrow

22.01.2022 Despite the challenging weather conditions the garden continues to thrive! #mulch #marymead #chemicalfree #pleaserain

21.01.2022 Interesting addition to the garden today. Participants helped build a new scarecrow. Not sure this one will scare the birds away but might give a few passes by a fright! #mulch #Marymead #scarecrow #bitoffun

20.01.2022 This amazing trellis was made by one of our very talented participants, Shani. #mulch #marymmead #crafty #shegotskills

19.01.2022 Last week mulch donated some plants to The Food Co-op Shop & Cafè rooftop garden. mulch have a good relationship with the Food Co-op, often selling seedlings from their shopfront. We also love buying our cooking supplies from their wide range of organic unpackaged goods. #mulch #marymead #sharingiscaring #community

16.01.2022 A huge thank you to Andy from Canturf Lawns who helped organise a delivery of woodchips from the very generous TreeWorks Canberra. Thanks for your support Treeworks Time to get mulching! #marymead #mulch #thankyou #mulchformulch

16.01.2022 mulch has collected and recorded a total of 1850.52kg of food waste from the kitchen and staff room of King & Wood Mallesons over the years. This food waste has been turned into nutrient rich soil to grow our seasonal vegetables and herbs. If this food waste was to go into landfill it would have created 3515.99 of CO2-e(KG) emissions which equates to 313 days of electricity consumption for a household of three! When food waste breaks down in landfill it not only creates carbon dioxide it also creates methane a gas that is 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide. The less food waste we can divert from landfill the better! We love composting!! #Marymead #Composting #mulch

15.01.2022 PLEASE HELP! Do any of our amazing followers have a connection to a tree felling business? We are in desperate need of a large amount of woodchips/mulch to help suppress the weeds and keep our soil hydrated during the warm weather to come. ... A one off delivery or regular supply would be amazing. Any help would be appreciated. #mulch4mulch

14.01.2022 We've had an exciting morning at mulch! Participants were surprised with the arrival of 7 new chickens. The hens were delivered on Tuesday afternoon and have settled in well. Participants and staff are all very excited about the new arrivals. They've even given us some eggs this morning. Winning! #mulch #marymead #chickens

13.01.2022 Surprise treat for the mulchers today. The last of the summer veggies from the mulch garden were harvested, cooked into delicious meals and home delivered to mulch participants and their families. Local nutritionist and owner of Efficiently Nutritious, Alicia La Brooy and mulch's Kristina Whitley initiated this project and generously donated their time and skills to make this happen. #Marymead #mulch #nutritious #grubsup

10.01.2022 At mulch we’re proud to be part of the Floriade Reimagined community this year. We felt very privileged to receive 250 bulbs and 400 annuals for planting at our site in Stirling. We’ve planted the bulbs and annuals all over the mulch site so they can be enjoyed wherever you are in the garden. Recently the annuals have started to flower and the bulbs are starting to shoot. It’s going to be an amazing spring at mulch! #mulch #marymead #floriade #community #flowerpower

10.01.2022 We've been overwhelmed with the community support over the past few days and generous offers of donations. This morning alone we were donated over 500 plastic pots. We're working through the hundreds of kind messages, apologies if we're slow to reply. #mulch #marymead #community #thankyou

09.01.2022 Don't forget to visit mulch this afternoon any time from 4:00pm till 7:00pm. Come and see what the mulchers have been up to and buy yourself some locally grown, chemical free plants. #mulch #marymead #westoncreek #community #sale #chemicalfree #urbanagriculture

08.01.2022 One of the top sellers at mulch is our amazing seasoning, made with a variety of dried herbs from our garden. We are in desperate need of some more glass herb jars so we can continue to sell it. If you have any old out of date jars in your cupboard, and let's be honest, we all do. Then please think of us and donate them to mulch. #mulch #marymead #donate #cupboardcleanout #pleasehelp

05.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all the mulchers. Here are some photos of the ever changing garden and participants doing what they do best! Thank you for all your support over 2019.... #mulch #marymead #urbanagriculture #community

03.01.2022 We had another successful year at the ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show Horticulture/Produce competition. There was some stiff competition this year and we were very pleased to come away with two 1st and three 2nd places. We won first place for our collection of herbs and our golden nugget pumpkin and second place for our cucumber, eggplant and squash.... #mulch #marymead #urbanagriculture #chemicalfree

01.01.2022 With all the summer vegetables coming in thick and fast we've been regularly visiting the Marymead office in Narrabundah to sell our produce. Next Wednesday 12th February we will be having a sale from our site in Stirling (51 Fremantle Drive) from 10:00am till 12:00pm. We will have plants, veggies and preserves for sale. 01.01.2022 It's taken us a few weeks but we've finally finished dividing all our raspberry plants. Participants have helped pot over 300 plants. Some of these will be used in our garden beds but most will be for sale at our next big plant sale (date to be advised). #mulch #marymead #raspberries #freshisbest #locallygrown
