Sometimes beautif...ul things occur when it’s unexpected. I’d like you to name it. It’s smells like Australian Florals and Honey. It’s coloured with Australian White and Chocolate Clay with a toss of Native Wattleseed. If you pick a great name and it’s a keeper, I’ll post you out a bar for free as a thank you. See more

11.01.2022 95 today...happy birthday Nan&Gran aka Mary&Louise No longer either of you are with us now but always remembered. It’s not everyday your grandmothers were born the same day and even the same age. These two ladies both with hearts of gold, baked and cooked, knitted many hours, gardened, looked after all us grandchildren, worked the land, loved cleaning up - burning and the list goes on. Lucky to be able to call you our Nan&Gran ... We are thinking of you both today

11.01.2022 A couple of months ago my mother was visiting us from Central NSW. One her way home along the Newell Highway about 4pm, she spotted a Sri Lankan man in dirty m...ining clothes standing beside his broken down car waving his arms frantically in the air. For those who have travelled the Newell, between Dubbo and Parkes you will know it is a very busy road, with a 110km/hr speed limit. My Mum pulled up behind his car and offered him a lift. This in itself is something that does not surprise me, she is one of the kindest people on the planet and can see the good in everyone. What did surprise and sadden me was that this gentleman had come off night shift from one of the local mines that morning. He had been waiting by his car all day, trying to flag down a passerby for assistance. He did not have a mobile phone, was not fluent in English, only enough to Thank Mum and show her his drivers licence which had his wife’s phone number and their address on it in Parkes. My mother immediately called the number on his licence and a woman answered in tears, she had no idea where her husband was or what had happened. After giving the gentleman her water bottle and following his direction to a residence in town, they were met at the gate by a very upset, but also relieved woman who was nursing a baby girl. This man had been waiting on the side of the one of the busiest highways in NSW all day. Hundreds of trucks and cars must have gone past. But not one stopped. It saddens and scares me that this is the world that we now live in. A world without empathy or compassion. I just hope that if I ever broke down on the side of a busy country highway that someone would pull up and ask if I was ok. Because you really have no idea who or what circumstances or waiting for them at home. It can be a very lonely time for a lot of people for various reasons. Check on your neighbours and the elderly. Unless we think of others and do something for them, we miss one of the greatest sources of happiness. Be kind, Stay safe. We are looking forward to sharing our Collective journey with you in the New Year. Xx

09.01.2022 Day 13 on The Canning Stock Route (CSR). A few hours spent under the shade with the ants while we waited for the 4WD’s to catch up. This is one of my favourite photos from the trip. Only had an iPhone for a camera. Don’t forget to jump over to the @ruralwomensday page to enter the giveaway to win 2 pairs from our new collection!

07.01.2022 MAKING MEMORIES by Murgona Mum PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION Well, we’ve survived another school year here at Burradoo. The break couldn't come soon enough, Term 4... always seems to be a tough one. I’m not sure about your household but it takes us a week to adjust to the new routine,..or lack of routine! The kids have to remember how to play together and I need time to deal with the loss of my babysitter (school). Living a good distance from town our children leave home at 7am and do not return until 4.30pm, so the education system is the equivalent of a babysitter for us. That said we do love spending time together and come January I won’t want them to go again. Especially with my baby heading to Prep in 2020! Whether you are in Paris or the paddock we hope you are making some special memories with your loved ones. I love photos of any kind and I'd love to see what you are seeing through your camera lense. A photo can say so much and captures a moment in time forever- something so special about that. So my challenge to you comment below with a favourite photo of you and/or your family making memories. How are you spending the holiday season?! Please include a brief description and share your special moments with everyone. Murgona Mum will be announcing the winner on 01/01/20. The winner will receive a signed copy of Benita Bensch’s recently released book ‘The Art of Trying’. This amazing story is Benitas own struggle of living in rural QLD and trying to start a family. https://www.benitabensch.com/ Team Murgona personally don’t go on extravagant holidays and as we are feeding cattle this year we won’t be travelling far. A day at the Dawson River is popular with many Taroom residents and doesn’t take much planning. Pictured My younger (I can’t say little anymore) brother enjoying the serenity of the Dawson. See more

03.01.2022 Hope you have all entered! Only a few days to go!
