21.01.2022 Celebrating International Earth Day... the hands on work of our Mary River turtle project may happen locally but it has benefited from strong international connections... Researchers from Holland, Brazil, Scotland, New Zealand, financial support from USA and UAE, and special friendship with Malaysian & Brazilian turtle conservationists. Just this week, our project featured in the international media coverage. 19.01.2022 A sad note... one of our really valuable long time volunteers has recently died. We'll miss you Noel and your meticulous diary notes of rainfall and any turtle activity. You were a really valued member of our team. Sincere condolences to the family as they learn to live without his presence.

13.01.2022 Just a few of the women involved in our project....

09.01.2022 Yesterday a very observant person noticed this turtle nesting in their back yard. How lucky are they? It's a broad-shelled turtle (check out the long neck), and it's their nesting season. Like us, they would've loved this rain we are having in south-east Qld. While they are still commonly seen in Queensland, they are considered vulnerable in Victoria. Our friends down there are actively conserving their nests to increase the population. #turtlesaustralia
