23.01.2022 Pasta Won't Make You Gain Weight Our deli cabnet is now full of new smallgoods and cheeses just arrived yesterday... Carbs have received a bit of a bad rap in recent years, but we're hoping a new study is about to change that. Research out of Italy confirms pasta won't make you gain weight. In fact, it may even do the opposite! The study conducted by Neuromed and published in the Nutrition & Diabetes journal examined the diets of over 23,000 people, and ultimately concluded that pasta is a vital part of the very healthy (and slimming) Mediterranean diet. When part of a diet rich in fish, vegetables, olive oil and whole grains, your weight should not be affected by how much pasta you consume. Eating pasta was actually associated with lower obesity rates and a healthy body mass index (BMI). "We have seen that consumption of pasta, contrary to what many think, is not associated with an increase in body weight, rather the opposite," the study's lead author George Pounis said. "Our data show that enjoying pasta according to individuals' needs contributes to a healthy body mass index, lower waist circumference and better waist-hip ratio."

19.01.2022 All of you who wanted the Recipe for the seafood Linguine here it is. 500g Tray Mary's linguine (or your fovorite Mary's Pasta), 1kg bag Live Blue Mussels,250g Green Tiger Prawns cleaned &peeled,250g Mackeral Fillet cut into bite size peices(or any firm white fish),4 Eschollots finley chopped,2 Sticks of Lemon Grass bruised,6 cloves of Garlic finely chopped , 6 Mild Chilli's finley sliced,Thumb size piece ot finley chopped Ginger, 4 Kafier lime leaves (Leavewhole& remove afte...r cooking, 2 Tbls Fish Sauce,Glass of white wine,Jucie of 1-2 Limes to taste,Good amount of Olive Oil. This dish is all about timing in the time it takes to cook the pasta the seafood will be cooked.Place Frozen Mary's Linguine into a pot of salted boiling water and stir to seperate. Place a deep frying pan that has a lid or large Pot on the stove on high heat and add oil and all ingredients except wine,Lime juice and seafood. Cook the the aromatics for about 5min. Now add lime juice and fish when fish is almost cooked add prawns mussells and wine place lid on and let steam for 2 min. Pasta should now be cooked,strain and place in large serving bowel once all mussells are open pour all seafood and jucies over the Linguine and stir through,place mussells for presentation if you want and discard any that do not open. Prepare all ingredients before hand. Total cooking time will be abuot 15 min. This will serve 4 people. BOUN APPITTITO. See more

19.01.2022 Judging by the leftovers, 2 packets of linguine was obviously too much for 4 people, we could have fed closer to 8 or 10! Yummo dinner though!
