20.01.2022 Maserado Mastiffs would like to touch base with our followers, Maserado is made up of Mark, Nichole and all our Mastiffs, none of us are perfect, and like all the puppies we help to produce, we are looking to improve little by little, We don’t shy away from the fact we have the Pied gene as well as the long hair gene in our bloodlines, when we plan a breeding there is a theory behind it, when we keep a pup we get guidance from someone we trust and has the expertise to guide u...s, ideally we would like nothing better than keeping the ones with out the pied gene or long hair gene but it just doesn’t work like that, 6 months ago we bred our first Pied Mastiffs, we DNA test our dogs so it was no surprise, producing a popular colour or profiteering certainly isn’t the reason for choosing the Sire or Dam, for those who we have disappointed I’m sorry, but unfortunately it won’t be the last time we bred a pied carrier with a pied carrier, all I ask is don’t take your disapproval out on the wonderful and loving owners of these pups who colour doesn’t comply to the breed standard, I’m open to criticism and more than happy to try and explain our reasons, we all agree that Mastiffs are a wonderful breed, loving and loyal always See more

17.01.2022 Puppies 8 weeks old, the first pup has gone to his new home today, 2 go tomorrow, 1 on Monday, then 2 next Friday, 1 hasn’t set a date yet and 2 will play a part in our future breeding program, these pups have gone so well, from there first feed off mum to tearing meat off the bone, bathtime and cutting there toe nails, we love there cuddles and kisses, and are sure they will have a wonderful life with there new family. There final weights are a very healthy 10.5 - 12.5 kg

17.01.2022 In our breeding life over 5 1/2 years 10 litters And 63 pups We have had 3 pups needing surgery to help with UAP, (and not behind any 1 bloodline looks more random or an individual growing thing ) We know there are hereditary and environmental factors that cause this, we have changed a few things we do along the way, We now X-ray our pups elbow joint at 20 weeks old to see how the Anconeal process is developing and if not advanced as our wonderful vet and one of our few men...tors Dr Karen Hedberg likes, we put them on a course of Alendronate, 1 tablet per week over 4 weeks, and re X-ray at 28 weeks, the few pups we have tried this on has had great results, except 1 but she is not lame or need surgery. Today the 2 Brindle boys and the Apricot girl X-rays looked really good, the smallest Fawn girl wasn’t that bad, just not as developed as the others, so she will be going on the medication, and we won’t keep her in our breeding program just in case. As of our last litter we ask our new puppy owners to do the same, and this needs to be done now in this small window of opportunity. All pups handled this experience very well If any puppy owner has any questions please call you have our numbers See more

10.01.2022 Maserado Mastiffs have lost a dear Friend, Ian Le Nepveu passed last Saturday we knew Ian was in for the fight of his life, but he didn’t deserve to go so young, Ian & Lianne came into our lives 2years ago, they opened there doors to us, took us under there wing, gave there bloodlines to us, no question no strings, they knew we loved our beloved breed as they do, Ian was a generous man who touched many and the news of his passing has deeply saddened many us included, Mark, Nichole and our family give our love & prayers to Lianne and Ian’s family as they go through this trying time. We promise to continue on with our planned breedings with Grandcouer with Ian looking over from above. Just a little video of our Mastiffs as that’s what brought us together

08.01.2022 A Blast from the past, Going through some old photos has made me realise, as a breeder having more dogs than ever before, I miss the old days, I love this breed and all of our dogs, some I have a stronger bond with but all just give and deserve lots of love and attention, The Mastiff as a breed I believe need more breeders, doing the best for the Mastiff, we will probably down size but do intend to get into the ring
