13.01.2022 Insha Allah tonight we will continue our study on Imam Al-Ghazalis book Bidayatul Hidayah (The Beginning of Guidance). A brief preview of Bidayatul Hidayah book... Are rituals of worship merely physical acts? No. There is more to it, but then how do we seek it and, even then, truly acquire it? This is an essential theme of this important work by Imam Al-Ghazali. He wishes to open our eyes to the deeper meanings of worship by embodying true guidance that will lead us to sincere good works, refrain us from acts of poor moral character all the while pointing us in the right direction we ought to take in our daily routines. The topic of this book then is: how to seek real guidance. How to start well with it, travel and endure well through it, and end well with a meaningful, fully realized end. The book is broken down into three parts starting with the etiquette of daily acts of worship and establishing a spiritual routine. It moves onto awareness of the sins of the limbs, the implications associated with it and consequently how to refrain from them. Finally, it deals with the etiquette on companionship with the Creator and the creation or in other words - your relationship with God.
