15.01.2022 Masks Melbourne Creative Crew of Volunteers were so happy to see this message from Keith Goudy US Vietnam War Veteran. We have been volunteering making Masks and Scrubs for frontline workers since March 2020, and with over 10 Months of stage four Lockdown in Melbourne, we decided to challenge ourselves and learn new skills as a team building exercise design some Snoopy Masks especially for a US Veteran who is a huge Snoopy fan! These Masks were made so long ago, and with COVI...D lockdown laws, we had to wait until the 5km limit and curfews were lifted (after 191 days) the team were finally able to meet up to be able to pack each of our various design Masks to send to the United States! When we started the Snoopy Mask Project, we could not embroider so we all learned on Youtube. During March - December 2020 Cotton and Elastic become the new gold bullion. We are grateful to our Teams in Western Australia and the Northern Territory (the only State in Australia open at the time) to help us source much needed materials. All the Creative Crew of Volunteers at Masks Melbourne are grateful for all the support of our project to help others in our community in need, to help our Allies in the United States, and to be chosen as the feature story by Crisis Heroes on Channel 9 - Today Show. We have come a long way since we started this project, learned new skills, and specialise in tailoring designer masks and for those with special needs. Now that we know in the United States they are required to wear two Masks (WOW) - our Creative Crew will design some new Masks (double designs) to suit our friends in the USA and ensure they are not only ultra comfortable, breathable, and compliant with US regulations. Challenge accepted, we love creativity <3 We will also post some photos of one off custom design Masks we made for other US Vietnam Veterans of their Unit Patches and can say we have perfected the art of getting the Patch design right to the exact colour 'perfect'.
