21.01.2022 The rumour mill has been working overtime on social media regarding the impending April 1 deadline for the removal of rebates for some natural therapies. Please know that Remedial Massage WILL remain eligible for health fund rebates after April 1!!! BUPA sent letters notifying of the rebate changes impacting other natural therapies last week, which seems to have contributed to the confusion and fueled the rumour mill.... See the exert below confirming Massage will not be effected by the changes; The (Natural Therapies Review) Committee considered massage therapy and myotherapy as part of its review, which reported there is some moderate quality evidence of clinical efficacy. Therefore, the Government has decided that these services will continue to be eligible for private health insurance benefits. - Minister Hon Greg Hunt, Minister for Health.
