24.01.2022 I twice experienced the positive benefits of recovery massage firsthand recently after finishing very tired, sore and tight. I find a hot spa also complements recovery and can assist getting you back on track. I'm a frequent visitor to Warrnambool's Deep Blue Hot Springs, and Port Fairy Day Spa infrared sauna.

23.01.2022 My workplace this morning. 2x90 min treatments with background noise of waves, wind and rain. So cosy.

22.01.2022 Looking forward to visitors to Port Fairy and surrounds from Regional Victoria and Melbourne. We've all missed you. Should be a good Summer.

21.01.2022 Send a bit of Port Fairy love........Our Port Fairy Calendar $11 ea or two for $20. Easily posted as a large letter.

21.01.2022 Happy to be expanding my business to finally include clients from Regional Victoria. A very big thank you to my local clients for supporting me over these really difficult times. I need to continue asking screening questions, limiting the number of clients I see each day and giving extra attention to cleaning. Masks will need to be worn at all times. I will take your temperature and provide hand sanitiser. Please do not be offended if I ask to see your driver's licence. Port Fairy businesses have been doing it tough and we have been missing our visitors and their support. Missing my Melbourne clients. Hope you are all OK and that things continue to improve. Stay well. Stay safe.

18.01.2022 Social distancing is so important to help slow the spread of the current virus to everyone. Saddened to be closing my business of 16 years until we get to the other side, but it needs to be done. My massage table is now on a break. We will all be spending more time at home. I always try to find positives so am planning using all this extra time I have for some projects around the house and garden. Work has kept me pretty fit, so am replacing it by getting out the exercise equipment which most of us have lying around gathering dust. Stay strong, healthy and positive and we'll get through this. Looking forward to catching up with family, friends and my wonderful clients when this is over .

16.01.2022 Hello everyone. Been awhile. Hope you are staying safe and healthy. Under Victoria's Regional Stage 3 Restrictions, I am able to provide Therapeutic and Remedial Treatments for clients, but under strict procedures. I am currently providing treatments only for local clients in the Port Fairy, Koroit and Warrnambool areas in my room at Port Fairy. I am not providing mobile treatments. I am seeing very limited numbers of clients each day and my room is cleaned and santised befo...re and after each client. I will be wearing a mask and you will be required to wear one as well. I will be asking if you have any flu like symptoms or if you have been in contact with anyone who has. I will take your temperature. I will ask you to use my santiser. I have been sensible and not leaving home much. I also have the door open to the room next door just so we are in a larger room. People have been asking how I am doing and what I have been doing which is really nice. I'm not one for sitting around. I've been using my time well. I closed my business for more than 3 months. I've managed to complete some Professional Development including a 3 day Dry Needling Workshop and taking Reiki to the next level by preparation and attunement to Rieki Master level. Also have begun some Indian Head Massage training. Something like 90 moves to become proficient at, so this might take a while! Always had an interest in photography so lashed out and bought a professional camera and lenses. Would like to start a small business. Will see how it goes. A lot of experimenting at the moment around our amazing town of Port Fairy. If you are interested, you can check me out at Facebook GadaboutphotographyPortFairy or Instagram Gadaboutphotographyportfairy Canman3284 I haven't been running for about 6 weeks. Had a month's break after an event and just when I was ready to resume training for Melbourne Marathon Festival in October which now looks unlikely. Got a call to attend hospital for vein surgery in both legs so my break from running has now been extended. Recovering very well and back at work, but not running for a few more weeks. Had been cancelled twice before, so was very happy and lucky to have surgery. This op will extend my working (and running) career. Still no plans to ever retire.Bit of gardening and garden projects. . Decluttering the house. Trying to organise the garage so cars can be housed. (Not going very well.) Put on 3 kgs! Just keeping busy and trying to stay positive. We'll get there! I'm doing OK and hope you all are too. It's OK to say you're not OK. Stay well. Take care. Hope to see you soon. See more

16.01.2022 G'day everyone. Hope you are keeping well and safe. Has anyone any comments or experience at all regarding Red Light Therapy and Near-Infrared Therapy using panels? Been doing a bit of research and would appreciate any feedback. They do not radiate UV which can lead to burning, skin damage and skin cancer. Thanks.

16.01.2022 MEET CHRIS FROST. REMEDIAL THERAPIST. This post is to share how effective Chris’ treatments can be. This is NOT to highlight my achievements. I have privately had my celebrations and am not after congratulations. After a long journey of over 4 years with many ups and downs, last Sunday saw me running my dream event with this amazing man who helped make it all possible. We pushed each other to our limits to complete the Port Fairy Football Netball Club 10km fun run in less tha...n 1 hour. Our official time was 57:05. Chris pumped up the pace for the last 1.5km to over 11 km an hour when we realised the time was achievable. This was the event I began training for all those years ago and it looked like it was never going to happen. It was the only event I planned to run. I first met Chris for a treatment for sore and achey legs in late 2015 from being on my feet all the time. After several massages I seemed to be energised and thought I might give jogging a go. Never been one for much exercise or activity and I set a goal of running the 10km PFFNC funrun in 2017 which at the time was huge for me. I allowed 13 months to train but found after about 6 weeks I was already running that distance. So what to do? With regular treatments and training tips from Chris, I ended up running successfully a few other fun runs, 1 half marathon and 2 full marathons in the lead up to the PFFNC funrun after 13 months. The fun run didn’t happen as a couple of weeks after the last marathon I developed stress fractures. An operation and recovery meant that running was put on hold for about 18 months. Then another operation for a hernia. I thought my short running career had abruptly come to an end. With Chris’ expertise I was finally fit enough to tackle the PFFNC fun run in 2019. Was devastated when crossing the finishing line to discover that I missed a turn off for the 10km segment and ran the 5km course instead! Retirement plans were put on hold and Chris worked on me for another year. He helped me compete unexpectedly in 2 more half marathons and another full marathon in the lead up. Finally completed my dream run last Sunday. I received weekly treatments from Chris in the 10 weeks leading up to this last run. Regular treatments were the best. Chris also incorporates PNF stretching and dry needling in his remedial treatments. If you are a client of Chris’ you are in the best hands. If not, check him out. He works in Port Fairy and Warrnambool. As a Remedial Therapist, surfer, footballer and runner, he knows how the body works and doesn’t work. His treatments compliment physio, oesteo and chiro treatments. Thanks Frosty. Who would have thought an unfit older guy could do all this stuff. Fittest and healthiest I have ever been. Thank you. Highly recommend. https://www.chrisfrostremedial.com/

13.01.2022 Very happy to resume providing treatments from midnight tonight after Victoria's 5 day lockdown. I really, really feel for the businesses, individuals and families who really did it hard and suffered as a result of this current lockdown. Looks like I am going to be spending my spare time washing towels again, but I don't really mind.

11.01.2022 My business has been operating as normal but with some additional precautions during these challenging times we are currently experiencing. I have not been overseas recently or have been in contact with anyone recently returned from overseas. I have no flu like symptoms and I have not been in contact with anyone who has. I have never used a waiting room and space my appointments so clients always come straight in. Please never come early. I have been requesting clients to us...e my sanitiser on arrival and always question them regarding precautions they are taking. Please do not be offended if I ask you to postphone your appointment. We all need to be careful not to expose ourselves and others to this virus. I have always followed Universal Precautions. Between clients I disinfect surfaces, bathroom facilities if used, doorknobs and Eftpos machine. I have removed all soft layers on my table, including face crest and arm rest and now have only one fabric layer between the client and the vinyl covering. This means I can simply remove the covering for laundry and easily sanitise the table surface. Towels are always washed in hot water and air dried. My bin has a lid which I regularly empty and disinfect. Keep calm, healthy and positive See more

09.01.2022 Most of my treatments take place in my treatment room in Port Fairy, however I am also available for outcall mobile treatments. I enjoy getting out and about and provide a professional mobile setup at your home, holiday accommodation or workplace. 7 days until late. On Tuesday, as well as working in my room, I worked with a group of cyclists for 3 hours in a motel conference room with another remedial therapist, and with another cyclist at an apartment in Port Fairy. Mobile treatments have an additional $15 callout fee per visit. (Not per person)

09.01.2022 "Just do it!" Doing a rare bit of reflection at the moment during our 5 days of lockdown here in Victoria. In December 2019 I ran another comeback marathon after my broken leg and hernia surgery after thinking I would never run again after 18 months + recovery. I was simply out to finish and enjoy this run and not worry about the time and did. This guy was tagging me along the way like he was encouraging me to just do it. Like a guardian angel. It felt like he was there for me. I can't find out who he was as his bib number is hidden on the side of his leg. He was like a ghost. Anyway, follow your dreams and "Just do it!" If it doesn't happen, at least you gave it your best shot. Also found one of Santa's helpers on another run. These synchronicitys add a bit of joy to my life.

06.01.2022 Happy New Year from Honolulu. Popped back again for the fireworks. Better hot foot it to the airport. Working in Port Fairy tomorrow. Hope I have this crossing the dateline thing worked out the right way around. Managed a couple of Hawaiian massages too.

05.01.2022 A hot 44C in Port Fairy today. Have put away the polar fleece table coverings today and using towels so clients don't get too hot. A cooler 22C in my room. Going to be a cooler and wet 16C tomorrow so might have to get them out again and put the heater on! I now have available coconut oil if you would like me to use it. Coconut oil is cooling so not good to use in Winter. Just let me know when booking, as at lower temperature it solidifies and I'll need to warm it up. Tod...ay it is definately a liquid. Alternatively, I offer a range of sunflower based plain, relaxing, invigorating, warming, circulation and muscle relaxing oils containing 100% essential oils. I encourage clients to drink water after their treatment. I have plastic bottled water available for you, but you are very welcome to bring your own reusable bottle or have a drink when you get home if you prefer not to use plastic. Stay cool today, and stay warm and dry tomorrow. Love living on the coast. See more

05.01.2022 We can learn a lot from dogs and cats. They naturally stretch when getting up. Always makes me smile. They seem to always stretch so smoothly and slowly.

04.01.2022 An unexpected visitor to Port Fairy this morning.

01.01.2022 My workplace today. Used lime oil, so with the sounds of the waves and gentle music, the clients were able to relax and zone out to another place.

01.01.2022 Moon rise and sunset on the island tonight.
