04.01.2022 Headaches suck. From a dull ache to a blinder that feels like your eyeballs want to pop out, when we get them they suck. A common cause is tight traps.... Exercises where your working overhead like pull-ups, heaves, L-sits, or lifting can all contribute to tight traps. What to do? First thing is hydrate. Drink water. You know your supposed to, so just do it. Constantly. All day. Until your having to wee every couple of hours. Do your stretches. OK, when we are young and invincible we can probably get away with not stretching. But over time as we punish our bodies we need to stretch. Its gotta be a mandatory part of our exercise. And not just a 2 second tug down on the head, we need a minimum of 20 seconds, or 5 slow breathes. on each side and down the middle. 3 sets. 3 minutes to stretch out your traps and reduce the chance of a trap related headache. Massage & trigger point techniques will help. But you've gotta do your bit as well. Hydrate and stretch. Hydrate and stretch. Hydrate and stretch.

02.01.2022 Hiking around the south of Cornwall reminded me how magnificent our world is. It also reminded me what happens to our bodies when we carry our house on our backs. Regular breaks to stretch help, but there is nothing as enjoyable as a neck and shoulder massage when back home.
