22.01.2022 DOING IT FOR JARROD MPGC has previously joined the Australian golf community to dedicate some fund-raising efforts to the memory of Jarrod Lyle. Challenge is an organisation that supports kids living with cancer. Having been diagnosed with cancer three times throughout his life, Jarrod Lyle understood the hardship that young people and their families face when battling this disease. Jarrod was an ambassador for Challenge, and Jarrod’s Gift is the legacy cre...ated in his honour. All monies raised through #DoingItForJarrod will go towards his goal of helping Challenge provide practical support throughout a child’s cancer journey. In support of Jarrod’s legacy, we are asking members participating in any of our competition days in the week starting Saturday, 10th October to support of #DoingItForJarrod by making a GOLD COIN donation in addition to their green fees paid on the day. MPGC will match contributions Dollar for Dollar. All who enter will go into a draw for a either, a Doing It for Jarrod Gift Pack, a $50 Voucher form the Family Brasserie or a $50 Bar Voucher. Competition Days will be as follows: Saturday 10th Oct, 2020 Sunday, 11th Oct 2020 Wednesday, 14th Oct 2020 Thursday, 15th Oct 2020 Let’s make Massey Park’s contribution a valuable one towards this important cause.

22.01.2022 MASSEY PARK CUP 2020 The BNP Securities Massey Park Cup for 2020 will be held on Sunday, 20th December. We welcome all amateur members from affiliated clubs with a handicap of 8 or less.... Cost is $50 and includes cost of Golf & Halfway Snack & Drink. Entries will close at 5pm on Wednesday 16th December. Draw for tee times will be conducted and time sheet published here and on the Massey Park web site. 22.01.2022 FATHER’S DAY 2020 Celebrate Father’s Day with The Family Brasserie @ Massey Park. Whether it's Lunch OR Dinner we have a great range of choices for Dad from our Extensive Menu including our Special's Board. 21.01.2022 Massey Park goes back to back! A week after Shane Fitzpatrick went back to back in the Bexley Cup, Massey Park GC followed suit and went back to back to win the John Alenson trophy at the Golf Management Australia event at Ryde-Parramatta GC. Due to COVID, it was the only GMA event held this year and it was a great opportunity for GMs, Presidents & Captains to catch up with some old faces.... 20.01.2022 Massey Park Baby News. Congratulations to the Tierney clan on the new addition to the family. Fintan and Hannah welcomed baby Harper Joyce to the world last week. Mum and Bub are now home and doing well. Fintan however is a little sleep deprived. Get used to it mate. Congrats guys.

There are only the Matchplay championships remaining and they should be completed in the coming weeks. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners thus far. 13.01.2022 Vale John Ramsey We regret to advise of the passing of John Ramsey. John was one of three brothers who were all members of MPGC. He was a member for 37 years years before retiring to the Central Coast. A former police officer, he was quite the character with a quick wit and and sharp tongue to back it up. He passed last Sunday at the age of 85. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. The funeral is on Friday 4th Sept at 11am, St Nicholas Church, Tuncurry.

12.01.2022 Walking the Walk The 2020 Chick of the Walk was played in glorious Sydney conditions yesterday with Kerri McDonald & Stephanie Callaghan victorious over Trudi Unwin & Megan Oman winning 1up in a tense affair. The men’s Cock of the Walk final resulted in Daryl Smith & Ross Forrest defeating Michael Hamilton & John Doig 3&2.... Earlier in the week, the final of the Mid-Week Match Play Championship was played and Barry Hogg put in a great effort to beat Jim Mahon 2&1 after being 5 down playing the 9th. 09.01.2022 VALE BARRY PETERSON It is with a heavy heart that we advise of the passing of Life Member, Barry Peterson. Barry was only 79 years old and experienced a fairly rapid decline in health in recent months. He was a great club man in every sense and gave many years of faithful service, not only to Massey Park Golf Club, but also to the local community. He stood on committees in various organisations such as Cabarita Swimming club, of which he was a Life Member and Con...cord High P&F and also volunteered his time to assist the local Meals on Wheels. An avid labour man he would also be seen manning the booths at election time always supporting the local candidate. Barry was a member of 39 years standing having joined the club in 1982. He went on to serve on the board for 14 years in a variety of roles. He was Treasurer from 1991-1993, Director from 1995-1997, Vice- President from 1997-2006 and President from 2006-2007. Even after he retired from the board, he offered his time and expertise assisting with the management of the club’s accounts and always made himself available to consult advise or simply listen. In November 2008 he was given Life Membership of Massey Park GC, an honour which he richly deserved for his years of dedication and greatly appreciated. He enjoyed his golf but more particularly the company of his friends. Our deepest sympathies go to the Peterson family and in particular his wife Margaret and his four children, Kim, Tracy, Vanessa and Gary. The funeral will be held at 12.30pm on Tuesday 4th August at Mary Mother of Mercy Catholic Crematorium, Rookwood. Rest in Peace Baz. It would be appreciated if this news could be shared. See more

01.01.2022 The Holes in One at Massey Park just keep on coming with two more racked up during competitions last week. Firstly, Peter Bone aced the Par 3 - 14th on Thursday which was followed by Eric Kent who aced the 6th during Saturday’s comp.
