The vessel's mast is visible above the waterline and a pink inflatable mooring buoy is visible at the vessel's bow.... Mariners should navigate with caution in the area.

20.01.2022 The CSIRO has advised Mariners that pilot whale carcasses disposed of near Cape Sorell on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday may be encountered floating on the surface within about 15nm of the coast, between 41 40’S and 43S from now until Friday.

The buoy is installed within the lease boundary. The lease is not currently occupied. The navigational light is a yellow quick flash.

18.01.2022 NOTICE TO MARINERS M171-20 Underwater Vehicle Deployment Tamar River Australian Maritime College (AMC) will be launching a 7.6m autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) from 12 October 2020 to 16 October 2020 within 1km of the AMC Wharf at Beauty Point. The vehicle will be operating from the surface and also ... submerged. The vehicle will be monitored at all times and supported by personnel on the wharf and in a small support boat. Operations will be during daylight hours only. Mariners should navigate with caution in the area.

17.01.2022 NOTICE TO MARINERS M202-20 Fuel Reduction Burn - Port Arthur Mariners are advised that the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a Fuel Reduction Burn in the area adjacent to the Garden Point Boat Ramp Port Arthur, commencing Saturday, 14 November 2020 and continuing across the weekend (weather permitting).... Due to ash and ember risk to vehicles and equipment, the boat ramp will be closed during the burn. Every attempt will be made to open the ramp as soon as possible post operations. Boat users and fishermen are advised to plan use of an alternative boat ramp. Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service thanks you for your co-operation.

14.01.2022 NOTICE TO MARINERS M222-20 (T) Bruny Island Ferry Terminal Upgrade Mariners are advised that abutment works will commence for the Ferry Terminal at Kettering and Roberts Point on or around 2 December and will be completed at the end of March 2021. Silt stop curtains, 2m deep will be installed as part of the works at both locations and will be hung on coloured floats.... Mariners should stay clear of the works at all times.

13.01.2022 NOTICE TO MARINERS M159-20 Navigation Hazard - Whales Mariners are advised that 15 whale carcasses from Macquarie Harbour have been buried at sea at approximately 42 9'30.00"S / 145 7'55.00"E. ... Carcasses are expected to move slowly north-east prior to sinking. Further carcasses will be buried at sea depending on weather, possibly on Sunday and Monday. It is recommended that vessels give this area sufficient clearance for safety reasons. Mariners will be advised of the locations of further burials when known.

06.01.2022 NOTICE TO MARINERS M227(T) Navigation Warning - Sheppards MF Lease 94 - D'Entrecasteaux Channel Mariners are advised Tassal is bathing pens at Marine Farm Lease 94 at the Sheppards in the D’Entrecasteaux Channel starting 1 December until March 2021.... At times the bathing pen will protrude slightly from the eastern lease boundary. At night this will be marked with a white strobe light. Mariners should transit with care.

05.01.2022 It has been great to receive feedback from users of the new Cruising Moorings at Prime Seal. MAST has, however, been made aware that some users are not respecting the privately owned Island and are discarding rubbish and allowing pets such as dogs ashore. The Island is owned by Parks and Wildlife and is held as a Crown Lease to the high water mark for grazing.

03.01.2022 Another warm day today. If you are heading to Millbrook Rise, ensure you do not exceed 5 knots unless towing a skier between Sorell Creek and the old ramp at the caravan park. This area is a designated ski zone. A number of infringement notices have been issued as a result of inappropriate behaviour following the warm day on Monday.
