24.01.2022 Traveling often carries with the image of travelers cutting loose, doing things they probably wouldnt do at home. Whether its the infamous party towns or overseas Greek islands, or Australia the outback or beach travels , for many, traveling and partying seem to go hand in hand. And of course where theres partying, theres generally a bit of alcohol the universal social lubricant that can turn hostile-looking locals into best friends in a matter of hours. Drinking al...cohol tends to be a large part of many travelers itinerary. I know I really enjoy sitting back when I board the plane , and have a glass if champagne . It feels this is the start of my holiday . For many of us, theres a familiar pattern to traveling: day time often consists of doing your own thing, but then nights are spent communally, meeting fellow travelers and locals alike over a pint or glass of wine. Indeed, in many cases even those travelers who dont drink tend to gravitate toward a hotel common area (often a bar) or the local pub. But alcohol has its downsides for travelers. Theres no faster way to blow your carefully planned budget than a pub crawl in an otherwise very cheap country, to say nothing of alcohol poisoning, the buses you missed because you were too hungover and so on. So lets hear it, what do you think of drinking when youre traveling? Is it Necessary? Not necessary, but fun anyway? Not necessary and too expensive? Where does alcohol fit into your travels? I always travel with some good products to supplement my body thru these times . Always wake up feeling a whole lot fresher than some of my fellow travel mates bronnie.usana.com See more

16.01.2022 Sugar May Not be so Sweet for Your Mood Now you may have another reason to ditch the high-glycemic snacks and added sugarsmental health. Depression is a leading cause of disease-related burden on society, and rates have continued to climb. At the same time, global consumption of refined high-glycemic-index (GI) foods is steadily rising. There is some evidence these trends may be related.... In a study of 87,000 women, researchers found a possible link between higher dietary glycemic index and glycemic load and a rise in depression. On the other hand, higher intake of lactose (milk sugar), fiber, whole fruit, and vegetables were significantly associated with lower incidence of depression. Although more research is needed, the study results indicate that high-GI diets and added sugars could be a risk factor for depression in older women. https://academic.oup.com/ajcn/article/102/2/454/4564524

Here are possible benefits from a weight loss of only five percent:... Move Easier Losing 10 pounds of body weight reduces approximately 40 pounds of pressure on your knees and other lower body joints. Sleep Better If you lose at least five percent of your body weight, youre likely to get more quality sleep. In a study, people who lost at least five percent of their weight slept an extra 21.6 minutes a night, compared to only 1.2 minutes for those who lost less than five percent. Support Healthy Blood Pressure Extra body weight can make your blood push harder against your artery walls and that can make your heart work harder, too. Losing at least five percent of your body weight can support a healthier heart and blood pressure. A Better Mood Weight loss may help your mood. A better body image, improved sleep, and just feeling better overall are thought to be part of the reason. Replace refined grains like white bread and white rice with whole grains like multigrain bread, brown rice, and oatmeal. Also, increase your intake of fiber. 13.01.2022 When travel gets better in our world ! As an Ex-Cabin Crew member (long haul), I know the importance of looking after your skin and hair whilst flying and so here are a few tips on how to look after yourself whilst youre in the air, just in time for your holiday. Skin... If youre taking a flight thats longer than two hours, prep your skin as if youre going to bed. Pack sample sizes of cleanser , moisturiser, lip balm and sheet mask. I like to apply all of these products after boarding as it gives me something to do on the flight however if you prefer to sleep on the flight, head to the bathroom before boarding or carry out your skin routine in the lounge. This will give your skin the hydration and care it needs. I like to use the Celavive face Mask as the sheet mask is made from ultra-thin tissue and infused with a cocktail of wonderful ingredients, which is intensely rehydrating and only takes 15 mins to work. I like to massage the additional liquid in the package onto my neck, hands and arms. Though its best to head to the airport without makeup for a long flight, if you need to wear a little something, go for finished brows, waterproof mascara and pink/nude lips. This will help you look pulled-together while keeping your skin clean. Water is an in-flight essential. If you want your skin to look great when you arrive, drink water. The small cups they bring around during the food service are not enough. Plane air is very dry; at such high altitudes it has very little moisture, making the cabin air dry. That is what makes your skin feel dehydrated. I buy the largest water I can at the airport and sip it all through the flight. If you cant afford to buy water at the airport (the prices are ridiculous) take your own empty water bottle to the airport and either fill it in the lounge or most airports have water fountains. ( things are a little different with carrying thru water bottles at international airports these days) Im a big fan of face misting during a flight, especially on long international trips. I dont mean makeup setting sprays but actual hydrating sprays. I like water sprays, or Rose Water. Spritzing your face with water is another way to keep skin hydrated in the dry cabin environment. I also use my Celavive toner and spray it on my face to hydrate ..... fabulous bronnie.usana.com

13.01.2022 TIP 5 - for simple skincare routine when traveling One Day a Week, Dont be in a Hurry A skincare routine may seem like a chore most days, but try to let it feel like a treat at least one day a week. Depending on your skin type and your skins needs, try some or all of these luxurious treatments this weekend. * Exfoliate. Regardless of your skin type, you need to slough off dead skin cells once or twice a week to help keep your pores clear. Choose a product with ingredients... that gently polish your skin, like a sugar scrub. If you go for a different exfoliant, scan the label for alpha hydroxy, beta hydroxy, or hyaluronic acids. Fruit enzymes like papaya and pineapple work if you have sensitive skin. You can also use an exfoliating mask, a peel, or exfoliating pads. Just remember that a little goes a long waybe gentle! * Give yourself a facial massage. Get circulation flowing to your facial tissue and release wrinkle-causing facial tension by giving your face a good rub. After applying facial oil or moisturizer, slowly massage it into your face, neck, and décollé. You can also use a jade roller to help the product penetrate deeper and increase circulation. * Get your mask on. Give your skin some extra love by using a mask at least once a week. There are myriad options for masking, so choose your treatment by assessing your skins needs. Looking a little dull? Try a brightening sheet mask. Minor blemishes popping up? Try a thicker charcoal or clay mask. If youre feeling dry, pick a hydrating mask you can wear overnight. * Dont forget your eyes. Reduce puffiness, dark circles, and the appearance of fine lines by giving your eyes special attention on the weekend. Undereye silicone masks are effective options, but can be a bit pricey. For a do-it-yourself alternative, place steeped chamomile tea bags or cool cucumber slices over your eyes for 10-15 minutes. Whatever your schedule or lifestyle, you can (and should!) make time to commit to a daily skincare routine. Its an important healthy habit. Your skin is your bodys largest organ, so taking care of it makes a big impact on your overall well-being. Keep a simple routine using multi-purpose products youll be on your way in no time flat. Just dont forget the sunscreen! See more

11.01.2022 TIP 3 Choose Your Products Wisely Your skincare routine should multitask as much as you do. Look for products that do double or even triple duty to save time and space in your bathroom. Here are some common product combinations to try: * If you have oily or combination skin and would prefer to skip the moisturizer in the morning, use a creamy face wash, with hydrating main ingredients.... * Several cleansers double as exfoliators because they contain ingredients to gently polish the surface of your skin, helping to keep your glow going strong. * In a pinch, you can skip the serum if your moisturizer contains excellent anti-aging cosmetic ingredients to help combat the look of aging. * Lots of sunscreens double as moisturizers these days . As long as it has high enough broad spectrum protection, theres no need to use them in separate steps. Or, if you have dry and/or aging skin and prefer face oils to the serum and moisturizer, snag one with sun protection built in. * If youd like sheer-to-light foundation coverage, look for a tinted sunscreen. Itll tackle three steps in one: moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup. See more

11.01.2022 Tips for an Effective, Simple Skincare Routine on the Go and Travelling Life is busy enough. Add a tripeven if its a vacation you need or the scramble to get kids ready for back-to-school, and the busy-ness of life leaves you short on time. But that doesnt mean you should skimp on one of the most important habits for your well-being: proper skincare. You always hear about the many, many steps of a skincare routinelike its a race to add more complexity. That doesnt alw...ays fit with your busy life. But believe it or not, there is such a thing as a simple skincare routine. If you find yourself too hurried to make skincare a priority, try implementing these tips to make a routine that can keep up with you. FIRST TIP Care for Your Skin from the Inside The top skincare tip for busy people is to feed your glow from the inside. The better care you take of your hydration and nutrition, the fewer products youll need to use to make up for it later. The golden rule for good-looking skinespecially if youre traveling or spending a lot of time in the sun, heat, or on the gois to keep yourself and your skin as hydrated as possible. Yes, this means drinking about 64 ounces (about two liters) of water a day. But also avoid foods and drinks that dehydrate you or cause you to retain fluids: alcohol, refined carbohydrates, and salt. Beware: those cocktails from last night could have you waking up to dark circles and puffiness, and the salty take-out you had for dinner can leave you retaining fluids. The easiest way to stay hydrated is to take a reusable water bottle with you wherever you go. Look for one that holds at least 32 ounces (or about a liter), or youll be looking for places to fill up multiple times a day. BPA-free plastic bottles are easy to find and durable. Aluminum bottles are lightweight and tend to keep your water cooler than plastic. Either is a good option. If youre travelling by air , remember to empty out any water before trying to go through airport security. Otherwise, you may end up having to leave your bottle behind. For good skin nutrition, cut down on sugars and other simple carbohydrates. And add more lean protein and produce. Omega 3 fatty acids, are also essential to maintaining moisture in the skin. So, toss some flaxseeds or walnuts on your lunchtime salad to get a quick boost.* If youre traveling, pay close attention to your in-flight or road-trip nutrition, particularly the sugar and sodium levels. Whole fruit and unsalted nuts are better options than trail mix, chios, or airline peanuts. Ask the flight attendant for herbal tea or water instead of soda pop, coffee, or alcohol. Thats because its easier for your body to get dehydrated at 30,000 feet (10,000 meters). bronnie.usana.com

09.01.2022 TIP 2 Keep it Simple Be honest with yourself. Even if youre curious about the benefits of a complex, double-digit-step skincare routine, are you committed enough to implement it on a daily basis? If the answer is no, dont set yourself up for failure. You can still get fantastic results from a simplified skincare routine. The trick is to be consistent with whatever routine you choose. First off, clean out your shower, cabinets, and bathroom drawers. Any products that are exp...ired, have started to separate (thats a sign that the product has spoiled), or that you havent used in the past few months have to go. Now, its time for your simplified skincare routine to start your day (Those in bold are what a dermatologist would view as essential): * Wash with a gentle cleanser. * Quickly pat a light antioxidant serum into your skin to keep the look of aging at bay. Allow your serum to absorb into your skin. * If you choose to add an eye cream , now would be the time to lightly tap it into the outer eye area with your ring finger or better still find a great eye cream with a stainless steel applicator * Apply a moisturizer. * Top with a sunscreen thats a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. And youre done with your morning skincare routine in five minuteseven if you add in the two steps not seen by dermatologists as essential! At night, remove any and all makeup before cleansing. Follow with a more powerful skincare routine to take advantage of your bodys recovery mode during sleep. Also, add a thicker moisturizer or night cream. If you need extra moisture while you sleep, place a humidifier near your bed. To minimize puffiness, elevate your head by sleeping on two pillows. And rememberwhile the skin on your face is delicate and needs the most attention, the skin on the rest of your body also needs some tender care. After showering in the morning, use a quick-absorbing lotion and then layer on your preferred sunscreen. Do not skip this step, even if the weather is bad or youre in a hurry. Preventing sun damage is much easier than trying to correct it after the fact. See more

03.01.2022 Prep your belly with probiotics while you travel You want to eat new foods your digestive tract has never seen before. Whats a belly to do? Well, travelers diarrhea which, fortunately, often resolves itself with no treatment. But who wants to make that an anecdote from their trip? Not you. To avoid more severe cases line your gut with probiotics. Research has shown that taking probiotics can reduce the risk of travelers diarrhea by 15%. Probiotics also show promise in re...ducing constipation and bloating. May also help your body battle any virus or bacteria you encounter in a faraway land. A good travel item to have with you. I have a pretty strong stomach, but I supplement with probiotics just to keep everything running smoothly. How to take it * I Start taking a daily dose of probiotics at least 2 days before a trip. * Continue taking probiotics every day while I am traveling. * If i get the runs, keep taking probiotics for 1 to 2 weeks after it goes away, even if youre already back home. Your gut is at the core of good health. Everything you ingest must go through your digestive system to be broken down into the micro - and macronutrients your cells need to function properly. Imbalances in the gut can disrupt this process, starting a vicious cycle that could bring discord to your health and your life. bronnie.usana.com

01.01.2022 Your Skins Best Travel Defense Airplane cabin pressure can wreak havoc on your skin. Keep it in healthy with these skincare tips. I know all about this with having worked in the airline industry for 25 years , domestic and international flying . Your can get stressed out from constant travel, and your skin does too. The pressurized cabin air is desert-dry, upping your chances of dullness, rough patches, or even breakouts.... Before You Take Off The main goal before flying is to actively hydrate the skin. The night before, exfoliate with a gentle facial scrub pre-hydrating mask: Getting rid of the dead cells first is key, because it allows the moisturizing ingredients from your products to really penetrate deeper in the skin. I use a lovely range called CELAVIVE . In-Flight Save your skin from the recycled air. You'll need to create a protective seal to keep moisture in. Keep applying thru yr flight every couple of hours to avoid moisture loss. It helps penetrate the top two layers of the dermis, then provide that barrier to prevent evaporation. Some people may say dont use facial mists which, I do agree with , if you are buying off the shelf as they have alcohol. I use a fabulous hydrating toner. Its made without drying astringents, like alcohol or witch hazel. So, this soothing emulsion will help rebalance dry, oily, combination, or sensitive skin. Lovely to put into a spray mist bottle to use , when your skin is feeling tight, from being in the elements thru the day. You could also do a face mask without parabens and alcohol.
