19.01.2022 Hi team, I am getting a few calls regarding Bentley's email regarding disconnecting the Licensing of any version prior to CONNECT (IE: -> SELECT Series) My take on this is that I own a perpetual license of ProSteel. I can run whatever version I want. Now that differs when it comes to support. Bentley will only 'support' CONNECT, and in this - this is correct and fair. So SS8 service tickets will be ignored of course.... But they can't physically cut off the license to your software if you own it.

17.01.2022 Good morning team, just a quick hears-up for those out there thinking of switching to CONNECT Edition... It has just come to my attention that the current project I am working on in CONNECT Edition Update 4 has serious DSTV (NC1) issues. I have checked the output of 20 items - Partlist vs NC1 item count - and found of 20 items checked, 14 were incorrect in the NC1 file.... This is absolutely unacceptable, and quite frankly, pretty terrifying. My 5.5 tonne structure, if cut to the NC1 data, would have been several tonnes over. **USER BEWARE**

09.01.2022 Hi all, just an update on where we are at. There hasn't been a lot to report in the past as I can't risk using software that isn't working correctly - so I have been running Select Series 8 this year. The 5th iteration of CONNECT Edition dropped recently and I have been doing some TESTING (something the Bentley Development team should try implementing...) and surprise surprise.... running into issues already. I will say that most of the things I have found are not deal-breake...rs and can either be worked around or simply ignored. So it's not like this version can't be used. That said - it's early days. I will also say that some of the issues I am seeing were reported (and fixed) over a decade ago. Like the developers are switching back to early code and re-enabling early bugs... very odd. Regardless, this update represents the only update from Bentley in 9 months. No patches, no updates, no work-arounds... Sadly this seems to be a theme over the last couple of years where there is one update a calendar year, and we have to live with it warts and all.

03.01.2022 Hi Everybody, well I really do hope that everybody is safe in this strange and uncertain time. I personally am having so much trouble focusing on my work with all that is going on. That aside, for the past few months I have been working on getting my website rebuilt (again...) so that it can be a portal for online training. Finally.... it is complete!!... The way I have set this up is to separate my APC config form training like it was in the old days. That way a business can either get APC Configs, or training, or both. The new subscription portal currently handles ProStructures training, when APC Configs will be handles personally by me. So, should you want training, you subscribe to a module, and you can watch it them your leisure, from anywhere, or any device. I currently have SELECT Series 8 uploaded, and will start producing CONNECT versions next.
