20.01.2022 As advocates for practical workplace procedures and activities, it was nice to see common sense prevail in the review of the Fair Work Act to cut out some of the red tape enteprise bargaining. Administrative anomolies previously preventing enterprise agreements to get ratified, resulting in both employers and employees alike on occasions being unable to proceed with implementing mutually agreed pay increases was just ridiculous. Well done on this one Liberals.... https://lnkd.in/gyF5iaA #lawandlegislation #employmentlaw #enterpriseagreements #industrialrelations #redtape #commonsense #payandconditions #fairworkact

01.12.2021 Mandatory Single Touch Payroll (STP) systems - are you ready? STP becomes mandatory for employers with 20 or more staff from 1.7.2018 or if you employ 19 or less, from 1.7.2019 (the latter subject to legislation being passed). Are you prepared? Single Touch Payroll will require you to report employees’ wages and salaries, Pay-As-You-Go withholding payments and superannuation contributions to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) directly from your payroll processing system at the s...ame time as you actually pay employees. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO? Employee headcount required on 1 April 2018 All businesses must do this, because it will determine whether you are a substantial employer (required to comply from 1 July 2018) or not. You must include the following types of workers in your headcount: * Full and part-time employees * Casual employees who are on the books as at 1 April 2018 and who did any work during March 2018 * Employees currently on paid or unpaid leave, eg annual or parental leave * Seasonal employees * Employees who work overseas Want advice on meeting the requirements?
