25.01.2022 As part of our commitment to provide exceptional training opportunities to our apprentices, each year of their apprenticeship our electrical apprentices are hosted out to domestic/industrial electrical businesses to gain the additional experience/skills that they may not necessarily obtain on site. No doubt this was one of the reasons Mastermyne won Large Employer of the Year for Central Queensland Region, in the 2020 Queensland Training Awards. Huge thanks goes to Geoff Catto Electrical for hosting 4th Year Electrical Apprentice, Elton Boon over the last month. 24.01.2022 Product focus for this week is Marithan N (PUR). PUR is a versatile product that can be used in a wide array of applications from binding together fractured strata to sealing water inflows in strata and around ventilation seals and bulkheads. Its low viscosity allows for good penetration into fine cracks and fissures and its excellent adhesive power forms strong bonds with the strata. Weve now delivered a few small jobs in hard rock mines with solid results and positive feedback and some chemical trials organised for the near future. Russell Fry, Business Development Manager and Gordon Draper, Wilson Mining QLD Operations Manager this week spread the word about the quality of our chemical and consumable products at a number of hard rock mines in central north QLD, whilst Simon Lovell, our NSW Application Specialist, was doing the same at a NSW hard rock operation. #KeepChallenging #KeepOn

22.01.2022 Introducing ROCSIL HD20. ROCSIL HD20 was developed specifically to achieve a mine plug seal rated to a 50 PSI overpressure loading, these high strength mine seals are typically utilised to protect against overpressure (blast) events in underground mines. Rocsil HD20 does not replace the existing Rocsil LS1 for cavity filling but provides an alternate solution where a stronger seal rating is required. 21.01.2022 The Road Accident Action Group is a volunteer non for profit incorporated association, Established in 2002. RAAG is committed to identifying evidence and research based road safety issues in Mackay and the Bowen Basin. The Mastermyne sponsorship committee recently approved a donation of $5,000 to support RAAG to continue the fantastic work they are doing to reduce road trauma. This initiative proudly supports All Abilities Mackay Inc, a not for profit that advocates for the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with disabilities. All Abilities Mackay has been raising funds to install air conditioning in their Summer House learning centre facility. Mastermyners Andrea and Alex were amazed see for themselves what Bec Nicol (Founder and volunteer) and her volunteers have been able to achieve, on such a shoe-string budget. 19.01.2022 This weeks call out goes out to Todd Dorman, Matthew Porter and Jake Johnston at Aquila! Joining us after coming through the inexperienced miner assessment centre recruitment process and MyneSight cleanskin program (Cert II in Underground Coal Mining) last November, the guys have received nothing but positive feedback and high praise from the provider who facilitated their EEHA training on site, fellow trades and client. With a little over 3 months left to complete the inexp...erienced miner program and receive their white hats, they have now completed the sign off process and have been appointed electricians on site by the EEM. 18.01.2022 Mastermyne would like to call out Viv Gayton who has her 10 year work anniversary with Mastermyne today. Viv came to us via Cairns on the way to bigger and better things and when we interviewed her she said she didnt want to live in Mackay and didnt want to stay in HR. 10 years later she is still in Mackay and still in HR!! Achieving 10 years working in any business is a noteworthy milestone but to do it in a male dominated sector and performing a function like IR and HR in... the mining sector is something that should be called out. Viv has been there through some of our best and worst days and led us through some of our toughest negotiations and has always achieved outcomes that I dont think anyone else could have. She has been the keeper of our culture and lives our values daily and importantly she keeps us all heading in the same direction. To have achieved so much whilst at the same time earning the genuine respect of so may from our miners and scaffolders (in the day) to our front line leaders, our exec team and the board is testament to a true professional and great person. We have been very fortunate to have had Viv in our business for the past 10 years and I hope she stays around for a few more yet. Congratulations Viv and happy 10 year work anniversary!

17.01.2022 Steven OBrien (Mastermyner at Tahmoor) was off work for 6-8 weeks with a broken knuckle, incurred in a non-work related injury. With a family of 7 (2 of whom are photographed with him below) and as the sole income provider for his family, Steve was enormously grateful and relieved to have been covered by Mastermynes group income protection insurance. 13.01.2022 Dean Russo (Coordinator at Moranbah North) has completed his Cert IV in Underground Coal Operations! Dean completed the Certificate as part of the Mastermyne Deputy Program. Next in sight is his gas, law and oral exams to become a Deputy and complete the program - which hes aiming to do quickly. Dean said there was huge value in spending time with Dave Sykes as part of his learning journey. 07.01.2022 Gav Welsh (Consumables Manager) has been our resident Scotchman for almost 14 years; being the life of many a Mastermyne party! Not being able to sleep when he first arrived in Rocky, in the middle of the night he took his hire car for a drive around Yeppoon and stumbled across a workshop where the owner was onsite putting in extra hours. Never one to miss a sales opportunity, at 2.30 in the morning Gav introduces himself to who was to become his new boss. 14 years on, today we see him move on to his next adventure. Thank you Gav for everything you’ve done for Mastermyne and the teams you’ve lead so proudly and faithfully. It was great to share some old stories at your dinner on Wednesday night. 06.01.2022 Since the Aquila contract began, Morne du Rand, Senior IT Coordinator has been investigating ways to improve the internet connection onsite. With the office being situated in a low lying area, it had little to no 4G mobile coverage. Giving up was never an option. The idea was to move the 4G router to the top of a nearby hill, create a link back down to our office, using very low power and it needed to be managed remotely with system alerts. This trailer has ticked all the boxes. During a normal day the solar can provide more than enough power to supply the equipment with power and recharge the batteries. Big thanks to Paul Green, Clinton Day and Allan Murphy for helping Morne bring this to life and get approved for site use.

03.01.2022 Tony Mapp has decided its time to stand down as General Manager for MyneSight. Tony was an original founder of the 4Sight training business and the only founder who stayed on post the acquisition of 4Sight by Mastermyne. During his time with Mastermyne, Tony has built the MyneSight business into the successful and progressive business it is today. On behalf of Mastermyne, we want to say a massive thankyou to Tony for the way he has led the MyneSight business. We wish him al...l the best as he transitions out of the General Manager role and into some time to himself and with his growing family. Following an extensive recruitment process, we are pleased to advise that Kevin Masterson will be joining MyneSight as the General Manager from the 10th of August. Kevin has worked with Mastermyne over many years and has successfully led some of our largest and most complex projects. Our focus will be to continue to operate MyneSight as it operates now, but to also focus heavily on growing the business into new markets and to offer additional and expanded training programs and services across multiple sectors. This month, Love Your Sister and Grapevine Group - Mackay Region Suicide Prevention both received a fat cheque for $5000. 02.01.2022 We recently brought the A Team together to work on safety management systems for our much anticipated Whole of Mine project. After three long weeks with their heads in risk assessments, they were still smiling! From this week they are back in their happier place, performing work on site to bring our newest opportunity to life. #KeepSafe

02.01.2022 4th Year Diesel Fitting apprentice based at Moranbah North Mine project, Darcy is currently on external rotation with Custom Fluidpower in Mackay, gaining additional experience in hydraulics and pneumatics. All Mastermyne apprentices are provided the opportunity to attend external placements to further their skills and exceed their training plan requirements. Mastermyne are extremely grateful to Custom Fluid Power for hosting Darcy for this rotation and providing this additional experience. #KeepChallenging
