25.01.2022 A great 360 view of the Clem Smith Tribute at the first round of the series. Lots of cars parked and engines turned off for the one minutes silence. Certainly a haunting and incredible moment just in case you missed it !

23.01.2022 Master of Mallala Round 2 National Open Wheeler Classes Set to be Unleashed. This weekend(June 10/11) sees the second round of the series and the first since February but the wait should be worth it. Two national wheeler classes will feature on the program with two very different classes of cars.... After Seven years the Australian Formula 3 Championship will return to mallala for round 2 of that series after completing the first round at Morgan Park in Queensland last month. The nations fastest wings and slicks race cars will have plenty to offer with their small but classy field and talk is maybe the over all long standing track record could be broken this weekend? Northern Queenslander John Magro(Alpine Motorsport) took a clean sweep in Queensland winning all races and looks tough to beat here once again. SA driver Andrew Roberts will make his home track debut and his first drive in F3 this year. The smaller variety of open wheeler the will bring a huge field of cars for round 2 of the national Formula Vee series with 29 entries. The classes are also very well represented the 1200's have 14 cars and the 1600's with 15. The first round in Sydney Motorsport park was taken out by NSW champion Michael Kinsella in good fashion and will return to this round in fine form fighting it out with the best nearly every state has to offer.Look out for Lindsay Murfett (Tas) in the 1200's who won the class at opening round! There's also plenty of tin top action as well featured on the program of events. This weekend also sees the Michael Rooke Memorial for Improved Production with that race being the last on the Saturday afternoon.This also the first time most of drivers have driven locally since their exciting Clipsal 500 support round and also has delivered a good solid field of 20 entries. Circuit Excel SA have a massive 27 entries as well with plenty of familiar names once again like Johnston,Pannowitch,Bulter,Green,Hoare,Falco and the return of Victorian teenage hotshot Jay Robotham who showed the locals how was done last round with a dominant display. Also another supports include the evergreen HQ Holdens along with Formula Ford,Historic racing,Sports cars and Group N touring cars. Qualifying Saturday starts from 9am with racing from 11.20am. 21.01.2022 The last round for 2017 is this weekend and it has delivered a huge program of racing and not the normal twilight event either a two day event! The round features the Formula Vee Nationals for the crowning of a national champion and numbers are big! Entry is free admission for the weekend!

20.01.2022 Great to have this series making it's first appearance in SA at this weekends round. They will put on an awesome just like other rounds of the series no doubt...Should be a terrific highlight for the meeting!

17.01.2022 Master of Mallala Round 3 Getting ready to EXCEL! The much anticipated round three of the series will hit it's straps this weekend (19-20 Aug) and it's a very large program especially for the tin top fans. One of headlines for this meeting will be the Circuit Excels with the biggest assembly of the one make series ever to hit the Mallala Circuit for the Ryan Pannowitch Memorial Trophy.... 35 cars will do battle over the two days with a series of group heats to work their way into a Preliminary final and then the big trophy race later Sunday afternoon. This event has also created big interest from interstate drivers as well with Victorians and Queenlanders making their long journey to SA. The Porsche 944 challenge are also coming to SA from their normally Victorian based series and bringing the German brand for the round and have brought a very good field of 15 cars. A highly competitive series and it's not the first time some of these drivers have seen the circuit either , Should a great highlight? For the first time here in SA the East Coast Super Mini Challenge will also be a part of this meeting for round 3 of that series. A treat for the fans of Mini's in all shapes and forms from early model historic group N touring cars to sports sedans and the modern BMW models included in the bunch. The series has already been exciting with close finishes so far so expect much the same here. The Saloon cars,HQ Holden,Sports cars and Historic Touring cars will combine with some missing drivers in the Saloons returning after some including names such as Hardy,Jamieson and multiple SA champ Wayne King. Improved Production has a big juicy field of 22 cars and the racing this year has been outstanding and no doubt it will do the same here,Also look out for a couple of interesting VIc Drivers in this group as well it throw the cat amongst the birds here! Open wheeler entries are very good as well, Formula Vee have 15 cars with 9 of them being 1200's.Formula Ford and Historic racing cars are also on the bill. Two huge days of racing starting 9am both days. Admission is totally free so just drive on through the gates and enjoy SA and national mototrsport at it's best See more

12.01.2022 Tomorrow's race day(Feb 18)! The official 2017 series is about to begin. The program is set to start at 9.10am , Gates open 7.30am. Admission $20 adults children(u14) free. 10.01.2022 Entry list for the last round of the serires for 2017 and it's jam packed full of open wheelers for the Formula Vee Nationals! 126 overall entries and large numbers in Improved Production and Circuit excel as well. Certainly a very good weekend of racing ahead this weekend(4-5 November) and the weather is looking great! Entry is free admission both days. Check this list out it's certainly high quality and should produce great racing!

08.01.2022 108 over all entries will start off the 2017 series for round 1 this Saturday (Feb18). The entry list is dominated by Circuit Excel with an incredible 29 which is over a quarter of the list! Also good numbers in the HQ brigade for their kick off,With Improved Production giving plenty as well. Formula Vee once again also have delivered good numbers for the round 1 day meeting. 05.01.2022 Round 1 of the series begins next Saturday (Feb 18) which has been turned in a one day event,Unlike previous years which normally have been a twilght event. The official schedule of events of the days races is out and posted for your viewing!

03.01.2022 Welcome Back race fans for 2017! This years series is just about to kick off and the calendar of events is slightly different for this season of racing at Mallala . Also for the first time in the scheduled calendar no twilight events will take place but all for the good. Round 1 February 18 (one day meeting)... Round 2 June 10/11 (two day meeting) Round 3 August 19/20 (two day meeting,featuring IROC series) Round 4 November 4/5 (two day meeting,featuring the Formula vee nationals championship) Round one is closing in very fast and at this stage 108 cars have been entered...Plenty of info coming in the next couple of days! It's nearly race time again...Stay posted!

02.01.2022 Unfortunately today comes with sad news. Mallala Motorsport Park owner and well known SA motorsport identity Clem Smith has passed away at 90 years of age. Clem has had a long devoted career in motorsport going back his Sports sedan circuit racing days and of course his Rowley park speedway era. He purchased and reopened Mallala raceway some 35 years ago after the track was left in hiatus for a long period and has given his time to provide many great events over that time. St...ate series racing certainly has played a big part in his reign at the venue. A man of few words so they said but was a wonderful gentleman and devoted racing car man and a huge loss to the SA motorsport community . Clem Smith a man that will never be forgotten. See more

01.01.2022 This Weekends round 3 Entries have been released for August 19-20. A massive entry list for this years series in fact the biggest for the 2017 series so far with 129 overall. A welcome return for the victorians bringing the Porsche 944 series back here once again and also has another national series at this meeting,The mini's are here for their East Coast Challenge series! The Ryan Pannowitch Memorial Trophy is a massive feature on this program with the biggest number of Excels ever to compete at this venue! More previews and reports to follow on this event...It's a biggy for SA Motorsport!
