25.01.2022 Come and see....more paintings on display in our exhibition at Redcliffe Qld. "3x3" Old Fire Station Gallery. Take a ride to Redcliffe and enjoy a gallery stroll and enjoy the seaside. These two artworks share a different aspect of the iris. Can you sense the distinction? #Floral art... #womensart #gardenart #galleryart See more

25.01.2022 Just a quick look at what the clouds have done this morning...unfortunately they have scurried out of view in a silent retreat almost as soon as the camera appeared. They must be shy clouds.

25.01.2022 Hi I dont know whether I posted my Morning Musings Facebook live correctly or not so here is the link for you to view. Let me know how it went and what I could do to make it more helpful to you. Thanks and have an amzing day https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=848693882277758&id=194353551123174

25.01.2022 A memory piece from Soglio Switzerland. I loved the fresh air and cleanliness of this part of our world. The romance of having been here will stay with me forever I am sure! We tackled this in our Zoom Pastel Class this week. A perfect piece to practice tonal blocks.

25.01.2022 Ziggy has a new spot this morning. Hiding in my cupboard. Just like we are all hidden away atm. My heart goes out to Italy today. What enormous burdens must lay on the hearts of the medical profession. I have cried to God for mercy on them and us all. Join me if you will and send sincere heart felt prayers to heaven for our planet. Gods protection is our only hope. He can fill our leaders and doctors with wisdom. Send a prayer heavenward and then trust that you have been heard.

24.01.2022 A Balinese Artist - Wyan - came and shared his art with us when we stayed in Ubud. I asked could I take his photo and here is the 1 hour portrait of him. Just aiming to capture a fleeting encounter with another culture. Pastel and charcoal on collaged paper.

24.01.2022 I am thrilled to be one of the featured artists in the February issue of Australian Artist Magazine. The article is about painting complex gardenscapes. I will be going into more depth on this topic at my workshop at the Australian Pastel Expo in September at Caloundra.

23.01.2022 Okay...one oil at the preliminary stage before colour and one mosaic before the grouting goes on. Should get the mosaic done tomorrow. The oil will continue during the week. I nominate any artists out there to participate in the challenge of posting some artwork each day and to encourage others to do the same

23.01.2022 Free to a good home... art magazines. Almost a full set of International artist magazines about 60 in total. I have kept a couple of my favorites. PM me to arrange pick up from the northern Gold Coast. First in best dressed. There are 6 bundles like this photo. My studio is brimming to overflowing so you will be helping me out should you take them.

23.01.2022 This portrait was started in Adelaide at the SA Pastel Society. I finished it recently as the initial shapes were not accurate enough for my liking. I have worked on a custom collage ground, created from various papers I enjoyed texturizing in my studio. The broken surface coming through between pastel strokes is there to symbolize the brokenness that age affords to each one of us as we mature. I dont want the piece to be highly polished. I am aiming for a fresh statement, that possesses some movement and a note of discovery left with which the viewer may engage. A goal always exists when I create. I think I will spend my lifetime trying to attain these goals! The striving is paramount to advancing forward in my art. Falling short is part of that process and it is what drives me further and onwards. I love the challenge.

22.01.2022 The last weekend of our exhibition"3 X3" is arriving! On this Saturday the 7th November, I will be in attendance from 11 am until 12.30 to walk you around the e...xhibition and to share with you our concept and journey for this interesting grouping. 21.01.2022 Some things we paint just for fun. The Tuscan geraniums were one such subject as were the fanciful play with the poppies. On Wednesday I will be at Redcliffe at the Old Fire Station Gallery amongst my exhibition artwork. If you would like to pop along for a catch up, I would love to see you. I will be there between 10 am and 12 noon. I can walk you through the artwork, chat with you about my inspiration and share with you my heart's loves. #redcliffegallery #louisecorke #fl...owerlovers #flowerstagram #flowersmakemehappy See more

20.01.2022 I may have been compromised on Facebook. If you receive a friend request from me and we are already friends please ignore as this will be the cloner trying to establish a connection with you. My apologies. I have no idea how this happens.

19.01.2022 This info below is what I found online re when someone impersonates you. It may be helpful to you. If you have a message from me and it sounds odd - such as a money rewarding scheme of any sort - you must know that this is not from me. Perhaps you can follow this info below to report them. I do not of course have a message from the impersonator so cannot do anything from my end. What to do if someone is pretending to be you on Facebook? 19.01.2022 Early morning in the mist. Posted so you can enjoy.

19.01.2022 A sheep in blue clothing. Pastel on masonite. One amongst a flock travelling along a country road Margaret River WA.

19.01.2022 Untitled at this point in time. Oil on oil primed canvas. 26 x 23 cm.

19.01.2022 Ziggy is falling asleep on the job. She should be helping me create my new online classes. Cant get good help these days

18.01.2022 Just popped up my first live streaming...let me know how it went...have a wonderful day

17.01.2022 Ziggy is very comfy this morning. She has staked put her spot for the day. I am so grateful for Skype technology so I can maintain visual contact with my students.

17.01.2022 Early morning musings

16.01.2022 2 of my demonstration pieces from Camp Creative this year. Just one day to go. It has been a great week with an excellent group of people. Pastel Adventures. Perhaps consider attending next year.

14.01.2022 The mornings are so beautiful at the moment....I can see a stand of trees from my studio that filters the early morning sunshine. Last night the same stand filtered the moonlight. So...I am preparing to create 2 paintings ...depicting these 2 different light forms. I have briefly sketched the trees just now without the light behind as it is simply too bright to look at for an extended time So hopefully the resulting paintings will evidence these day and night light sources obviously!

14.01.2022 A lot of my time is spent thinking. I look at everything in the world...the beauty, the interactions, the joys and the sorrows. Somehow I meld these thoughts and lay them into my artwork...dont ask me how...it is a part of myself that gets laid down. These are photos I took one morning of the exquisite water droplets. I think about their tenuous existence upon the leaf or fruit and yet they radiate beauty even if only clearly visible to the eye for just a short while. What a wonderful life lesson ...be and give your best...even if the stage you are set upon lasts a short while. New stages will lend you a space just live ready to take up the offers.

13.01.2022 Three artists, each displaying a boutique exhibition in their chosen theme. Come and see the diversity within each theme to appreciate the artists mindset. Flowers, Animals, and Seasons. #redcliffe #flowers #seasons #animals... #artlovers See more

13.01.2022 An oversize pastel. Sunset at Urunga NSW . Such a beautiful time of day.

13.01.2022 Oil on board "Caught between" This is one of my oils in our current exhibition at Redcliffe Old Fire Station Gallery. The 3 of us (Petra Daecke, Joanne Cotton and myself) each selected different vessels to render in a square format. 65 cm sq outside dimensions. This was fun as well as challenging. I do hope you can enjoy my play with these cherries.... #Oil #oilpainting #cherries #artwork #artexhibition See more

13.01.2022 Our dancing girls! Well that may be a bit of a stretch...definately they creatively worked their way through the pages of their hand made journals whilst in Margaret River. This was a great 10 day art tour. I am heading back to Queensland today after 26 days away. I had wonderful workshop people at Adelaide, Albany and Perth. I made many new friends.

10.01.2022 How wonderful to have time to develop new ideas and direction. A time to reflect and evaluate our lives during our Covid 19 situation. My little "Ziggy" found an ideal spot close to me and yet not on me which is the usual case. She is the reason I leave the studio at night and come indoors I know her need for cuddles is great. A very cute Devon Rex covered in a soft downy covering that is not problematic to those who are allergic to cats.

09.01.2022 Okay day one of the oil painting of my trees. The sketch was posted yesterday. The sketch allowed me to discover what I was seeing. The sunrise was colourful for just a minute or so here. A beautiful blaze of pink! This morning dissolved quickly into overcast but the sun did make an entrance. Today I have done my first pass of colour.

09.01.2022 A demo from last weeks class. The colour of the rocks shows too warm here. This is another Norfolk Island piece. I seem to have great inspiration when it comes to painting from this part of the world. It is a half sheet size of Art Spectrum Colourfix cream colour.

06.01.2022 Something painted a while back. Pastel on paper. Inspiration came from Lake Como Italy

06.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon I tackled the grouting on this mosaic. Wow what a task. As I am not a mosaic artist, I faced the challenge of glass pebbles and tiles at varying heighrs and shapes and trying to get the grout to look okay around them all. It took several hours. I started this project about 9 years ago and decided it was time to bring it to completion. It is a memory piece of the view from one of my accommodations in the Greek Isles. I just need to seal it now and decide on how I will edge it for display. It is 45 x 90 cm so not a small chicken! I hope you get some enjoyment out of my primitive efforts and see past the technical faults and onto enjoying a fun way to express my memories.

04.01.2022 Our demo this morning in class...capturing the movement. Half sheet of recycled Art Spectrum Colourfix paper.

02.01.2022 Day Two. Nearly there now. Oil on canvas. Aiming to capture the light.
