05.01.2022 BULLS**T OR NOT? Have you caught the final episodes of ‘The last Dance’? The Michael Jordan doco on Netflix?... Sometimes these docos are just plain b**lshit. - Pardon the pun I guess we never know what really happens behind the scenes and these kinds of doco’s tend to be a bit one sided BUT What did you think about MJ’s leadership style? Does yelling and talking trash to your team mates get the best out of them? Does causing another bloke to get so angry that he wants to fight you cause him to channel that anger back into the game ? Does that make him play well? Did MJ even use that style or have we been just told that story to make it a drama - causing us to be attracted to something to watch, like a lot of the rubbish we watch on the news? I learned a few things that I think are unique to high performance 1- HIGH STANDARDS: you have to set your standards high and if you are the leader you have to hold yourself and others to them 2- TEAM OVER ME: despite what seems to have been portrayed a lot of the time, it takes a whole team to win a championship, not just a player. Everyone has their role. It’s annoys me when a single person gets glorified no matter how good they are. 3- MJ’s MINDSET: he seems to have been highly driven by a super competitive streak, that was sparked when someone got one up on him. Have you recognised that in yourself? I know I have but it doesn’t always help it sometimes makes things worse - he seemed to be able to channel it very well. Do you think he was fairly portrayed or has it been just another one sided doco? Anyway I think that was a golden era of basketball and I enjoyed the doco What did you think, anything worth taking away
