19.01.2022 In Dogs We Trust, author George Hulse To be the very first person that an enemy soldier sees and not to be able to look for the enemy yourself while you concent...rate on any indication of trouble from your dog in front of you requires a special kind of combat soldier. It requires a special kind of dog. This book will give you what its like to be that person taken from first-hand experiences of military working dog handlers in both the Australian Army and the Royal Australian Air Force. Be amazed, informed and captivated by the accounts of this special asset in the Australian Defence Force that you probably didnt know existed . . . 11.01.2022 Whos a good dog? Shout out to all of our talented four-legged friends and their handlers who took part in Exercise #TalismanSabre. Canine support is a vital ...part of this mass training exercise. Military Working Dogs and Military Police Dogs provide security, assist with tracking, and conduct patrols to ensure everyones safety. A dogs keen sense of smell is critical in a battle environment - and theyve been here sniffing out the enemy and detecting ordnance during our activities.

10.01.2022 Just to let you know that we are having a get together at the beach on Sunday 8th March from 11am Brighton Dog Beach (aka Sandown Street Beach) is an off leash beach. Fenced landside, the beach offers a safe seaside escape for new pups or dogs with poor recall. There are shallow flats that are great for puppies new to water as well as expansive sand and small vegetated dunes for pups who find the water all a bit too daunting. This provides plenty of space to throw a ball a...round or drop a beach towel and take a break while your pup splashes about to its hearts content. There are also bins and doggy bags conveniently located as you walk in but remember to bring along some fresh water. Parking is generally fairly easy to find on surrounding streets such as Seacombe Grove. From there, you can take the short walk to one of the entrances. Weekends, however, can get quite busy, so perhaps park further down the Bay Trail and enjoy the coastal walk and views. Hopefully we will see some of you there. Regards Paul SImmonds

09.01.2022 Hope all those travelling to the show are having good trips. Look forward to seeing you all in the morning.

As the sun rose over... the ocean we remembered our mates from those days along with serving personnel, all Military Working Dogs and those who have recently served. The families as well as those in hospital and those who are doing it tough were also included in the remembrance. 1967 saw the arrival of Tracker Dogs in Vietnam: Cassius & Justin in April, Tiber in May; Marcus & Caesar in May; Julian & Janus in December.
