25.01.2022 Our TheodorosCross Today I was going to release one of our new lines we have ready to go but I wont, Ill re post one of our most popular and why...... Today we would have been celebrating my dads 63rd birthday.... Those that have followed us from the beginning or or have come to know the story, understand. To our new followers or those that dont - we lost my father last year to stage 4 brain cancer and looked after him at home until he was taken. That was his dying wish and it was hard. Physically and mentally very hard and my poor mother- no words can explain the respect and admiration I and many have for her and the lengths she went to for him. The Theodoros Cross was created in honour of my dad..... The colours used are the same from the first ever lot of crosses I made when I took over the business. During dads battle he asked me to have one. My father migrated from Greece to Australia at 5 years of age, he was not overly religious, he taught us customs and traditions. He kept the cross by his side day and night and when he passed we placed it with him to rest. I can only hope it gave him extra strength to have possibly given him one more day/week or even minute. We miss you dad and a day does not go by without you in our thoughts. 23.01.2022 This week I had the absolute pleasure to go into Kathryn's (last photo) kinder to show the class and take them through what mummy does for work. What makes it more special is that it's the kinder I attended many years ago! Parents have been invited to spend an hour on what they do for work, a skill they have, sport they play, custom they follow and more. To top it off last week a parent went in and talked about Greek Easter and explained lambathes to the children- guess wha...t, it was one of my creations!!!! I went through the different process, methods, we mixed colours, talked about effects and had a few helpers as you can see my 2nd oldest Theodora being #1 helper and nephew Maximillian knowing exactly what to do. The kids got to hold, twist, mix colours and were left with a variety of pre-made pieces to keep and a couple to paint- hint hint mother's Day! It was absolutely priceless to spend this time with them, re-live my first day when mum dressed me to start in attire suitable to go to a Greek wedding The children were fascinated, intrigued, smiles all round and excited to be given their own hangings to paint. 15.01.2022 Many ask how do you do it? Full time mummy to 3 girls 3 and under, handmake all our creations, run a business, maintain a house and give my time and effort in supporting others? I am most nights up creating, responding, packing and ordering from 11pm until the early hours of the morning hence why often asked. So here it you have it............ I am a pretty organised, I am use to long days and have the girls keep me on the go all day. 05.01.2022 Do you ever stop? I get asked that question a lot, especially with 3 kids 3 and under. And the answer is, rarely. ... Even going to the toilet is even like a family conference meeting at times All good though, as my father use to say..... 'You function your best when under stress and pressure' but look after yourself! I really do miss my dad after loosing him last year to brain cancer. He worked so hard to provide for his family and was hugely respected and loved! He is my reason behind Mataki Filaxto- to spread hope and faith, it may have given him one extra day or week or hour when I gave him one of the first crosses I made when he was battling the horrible disease. He asked for the cross, not being hugely religious I knew this was my purpose. He held it every day, tucked it into his pocket when going for appointments. We placed it beside him when we laid him to rest. There's a lot there is no answer for, no justice in, not the way it should have been......... During these crazy times we are all so busy, short of time, going to do, need to do.............. Manage your time well, don't waste it, spend it with loved ones and don't take things for granted.
