21.01.2022 Ready for the next stage While Matt and I have been working on the world’s largest hand pump for Clovermead’s Adventure Farm Peter has kept busy creating the ar...matures for the two BBQ signs for Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Nebraska. The CNC routed sign has been laminated over the steel frame and now welded to the smaller of the sign structures. This armature can now be covered with galvanized mesh in preparation for the sculpted concrete skin. It is a good sized piece but tiny compared to the second similar sign. 16.01.2022 Grampa colour Becke and Grant have pretty much finished the base coats on the Grampa’s Kettle Corn sign. The old dude is definitely looking like a grampa as he ...gets all of his colours. There’s just his shirt and coveralls to go before the start of the glazes and then it is on to the sign for the final paint. > https://www.imaginationcorporation.com///5/5/grampa-colour

01.12.2021 2022 Workshop Dates As we rush towards the Christmas holidays and the end of the year it is time to begin thinking about next year. We’ve certainly begun our pl...anning in earnest over the last weeks. One such plan is the scheduling of next year’s Sculpture Magic Workshop. We’ve already sent out invitations to those who signed up for information about the next workshop and have booked a number of seats. Now, it is time to publicly announce the workshop. It will be held October 3-5, 2022. Places in the workshop are limited and available on a first come - first serve basis. As always, it won’t be long until it fills up. For information go to https://www.imaginationcorporation.com/sculpting-workshop or send me an email at [email protected] Our crew is looking forward to another great workshop! > https://www.imaginationcorporation.com//2022-workshop-dates

18.11.2021 Dichotomous dragon finished! Today, I found the few minutes I needed to splash the last dabs of paint on the Dichotomous Dragon sign and then with Peter and Mat...t’s help we lifted it up and bolted the heavy sign and bracket to our display wall. It is definitely a fun and colourful addition to our large collection of sample signs. This little creature makes me laugh every time I see him arguing with his ‘other self’ as he tells a grand story from his past. It is a bit like when I tell a story (as I remember it actually happening) versus how those around me remember a very different version. The ‘real’ truth is, most likely, somewhere in the middle. > https://www.imaginationcorporation.com//dichotomous-dragon

19.10.2021 Plans versus reality Each and every day I walk out to my studio with a clear idea of what my ambitious goals are for the day. It is a nice thought. Then my day ...happens. The first thing on my list is to open my emails and answer and return calls related to ongoing or upcoming projects. Most often there are questions answer, fires to put out, or new drawings to do in a hurry to keep everything all of the ongoing projects on track. On a good day this part of my job takes a half hour. When everything goes sideways this job can last into the next day. In the shop there are always things to sort out, instructions to be given or some planning of revisions necessitated by the complexity of our projects. We do our best to take it all in stride, without any unnecessary drama if possible. We love what we do and the people we are privileged to work with so that is relatively easy. I don’t do nearly as much hands-on work as I did years ago but I do my best to get my hands dirty as much as I possibly can. There are also some on going projects which are always waiting patiently for my attention. The three sample pub signs were such projects, accomplished in small bits of time over the last year. One of my regular goals is to sneak at least a little time on those kinds of projects a couple of times each week. Two of those signs are now complete (as of last week) and the third is in final paint. This week I hope to finish the fun little sign and get it up on the display wall as well. We’ll see how that lofty goal goes. Stay tuned > https://www.imaginationcorporation.com//plans-versus-reali
