20.01.2022 Year 5 had a fun filled day, going back to the time of the Gold Rush, participating in activities such as panning for gold, quoits, social dancing, damper making, classroom activiites and drama of the Eureka Stockade. From the smiles on their faces, it could be assumed a great day was had by all, especially those who struck it rich, finding GOLD!!

19.01.2022 Lots of excitement in Lego Club at lunchtime. Thanks to our Pope Francis students for organising a fun activity.

13.01.2022 First Eucharist was so different for Year 4 and their families this year. Many Grandparents and extended family members were so disappointed not to attend the service and celebrate with the children. With this in mind, we went about creating a blessing song to share with our community. All Year 4 children were invited to participate in some way, many of the children put up their hands to help and stepped out of their comfort zone. Well done guys, we are so proud of you! Thank you to the Carey Family for their time, patience and hard work to produce this blessing and to James Whaler for doing such a great job editing.

11.01.2022 Yesterday Year 4 students participated in their First Eucharist Reflection Day. It was a day full of prayer, bread making, games, banner making and a special lunchtime treat. Everyone had a very fun filled day to reflect on this special time in their faith journey.

11.01.2022 Big shout out to our Mater Dei Cross Country Team who travelled out to Eastern Creek on Wednesday and competed against students from over 64 Catholic Primary Schools across Sydney. For the most part the weather held out and every runner put their best foot forward (literally). Shout out to Olivia Kalamvokis and Alyssa Heppel who have now progressed through to the Mackillop Championship representing the Sydney Archdiocese. A huge thanks to Sapfo Kalamvokis for her immense efforts in training our runners each week at Carss Park and preparing them on the day, your efforts don’t go unnoticed. Congrats again to all our runners, Mater Dei is very proud of each and every one of you!!

11.01.2022 Dear Playgroup Families, Due to the recent changes to COVID restrictions in place until Monday 10/5 we have made the difficult decision to cancel Mrs. Ebb's wonderful playgroup scheduled for this morning. We are hoping to resume our normal program next Friday. All welcome!

11.01.2022 Yesterday our Year 6 students reflected on their upcoming Confirmation and the ways in which the Holy Spirit is present in their lives. In what has been an uncertain and unpredictable year, it was lovely to gather our senior students and have them all participate so actively.

10.01.2022 Happy 100 Days of Kindergarten!

03.01.2022 As today we celebrate the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop, our week that was at Mater Dei, saw our community ‘Seeing a need and doing something about it’. On Monday, we held an African Mufti Day to raise money to continue sponsorship of an African teenage boy Ramadhani. This money provides him with an education, just like the boys and girls of Mater Dei. We also celebrated St Mary Mackillop with a beautiful liturgy, recognising some of our students with a Mary Mackillop award. These students continuously demonstrate courage and care in all they do, just as Mary Mackillop did.

02.01.2022 Our Leaves of Love for Lebanon fundraiser was an outstanding success, with our community raising a staggering $1398.65 for the people of Beirut, Lebanon. Such a giving community, well done!
