10.01.2022 Mater Mothers’ Hospitals’ Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU) is a secret world, tucked away on just one floor of the Brisbane maternity hospital, however for nearly 2000 Queensland families who visit the unit each year the impact of the NCCU will last a lifetime. For some families, Mater Mothers’ Hospitals’ NCCU will become their home away from home for well over one hundred days. Director of the NCCU Neonatologist Dr Pita Birch and his team have been coming up with innovativ...e solutions to improve the experience for families. Two such ideas are noise cancelling headphones as well as a reading program where parents will be able to select a range of children’s books to read to their babies. 06.01.2022 We love that @mummyhood.au is loving our Mater Baby Products We received a box of baby products from @matermothers last week. Upon opening the box, my boys found two cuddly Miracle Max puppies - the mascot for Mater Little Miracles. I saw their faces light up and as a mum, my heart was filled with joy! One week in using @matermothers nappies and nappy balm. I can definitely say, the quality is even better than leading brands. The nappy is very thin but surprisingly ver...y absorbent! Leaving my bub's skin dry even after a long night. The waist band is smooth and resealable tabs are strong. It stays where it should therefore no wedgie for my crawling bubby! The nappy balm worked well with the nappy too as bub's irritated skin due to teething significantly improved just after a day. The best part of supporting this brand is that proceeds support Mater Little Miracles to help fund life-saving care and research for babies Australia-wide. My baby Z is my tiny miracle baby born 6 weeks early. 02.01.2022 Despite being born at term, baby Perry came in to the world needing a little bit of extra help, meaning he had to spend some time in Mater Mothers’ Neonatal Critical Care Unit becoming stronger each day. Perry was moved to one of the brand-new Giraffe Warmers, which meant his mum Belinda was able to have skin-to-skin contact with her baby. I’m able to sit here and cuddle him all day, which I couldn’t do in the other crib, it’s fantastic to be so close to him now. The equipment is amazing, she said.
