24.01.2022 Sad to say folks ,,Mates Day this year is canceled/called off . Going through the paperwork, time frame, application process, council ,which "Tier" we come under ,PEF ,cleaning/covid prevention, risk assessments ,public health department,,hoops to jump through , backflips ,and just normal handstands ,,it's not possible to put this together and through within 2 weeks .. Almost impossible I knew, but was hoping for a "bunnings" type gathering .. Anyways ,without being negati...ve about it,,,let's make it bigger and better next year . Sorry for those that have planned around this ,,.. I'm a little disappointed, but totally outta my hands Please pass on to all ... Hakuna Matata my friends..
24.01.2022 Hi all ..hope everyone's doing ok and getting through this strange and difficult time we're going through .. if you're struggling a bit, never be afraid to reach out,, text,call,post,,connect ..works both ways ,if you're a little concerned about someone, make that connection . On a brighter note , MATES DAY is still being organized for November 14th . Venue booked , several bands booked and building, foodies ,generator ,stage ,,, all in full swing .. Hopefully , by this ...time ,things have cleared up and this could be our first ,and bands 1st shindig.... 21.01.2022 Just a quick note.. Last years donations Account as you see it $$. . $2500 Donation to The Path of the Horse ,if your not familiar with this ,please have a look .. And the new drop-in centre ,,$3000 towards new computers . Again, if you're not familiar with this also have a geezer at it ..... The money raised/donated by you fine folk ,goes into running the event ,the rest is donated to the local MBMCC, our returned personnel, for them to decide ...I think you will find they will continue to donate to The Path of the Horse, as the work they do there with Vets is truly amazing... 18.01.2022 I Was a little late to cancel the order ..... Like to thank Haas, Geogie and crew at S3 Promotions for their generosity with the stubby holders .. Also Bernie and Loz at B K Joinery.. Goyney ,,On Site Laboratory Services .. These will be for sale at an inflated price ,to raise a bit of $$$ for the cause ...... Also people have been asking about still donating to Mates Day ,,, which I'm chuffed about ..I'll sort this in the next couple days .. Anyways ,,sit back ,have a refreshments ,put some tunes on , and enjoy what we've got ..been a tough year for more people than normal.. 09.01.2022 Morning all you groovy humans ...at this stage MATES DAY is still going ahead ,,,hoping the change of date to the 5th December works out for all to gather ???....I've organized the weather to be like '18,,,,not '19 So that's a good start ... The line-up.... Steve and Rach Medicine Man The 1 off Band... Old Melbourne Road Paul Wilson and bad company? Elvis ,,maybe? Fat and The Heads The Go Set ,to finish the night ... A little shuffling to do yet ... OMR gotta be gone by 5.30 .. I'm guessing there will be restrictions and guidelines if this goes ahead, so we all need to work together on the day to make it run without interruptions..more to come ... Anyways ,we live in hope ,let's see how things go .. And tomorrow 11am, 11th of the 11th ,,pause and pay your respects to those that have served ,still serving ,and those that have fallen ..Lest We Forget
06.01.2022 Hi ya'll.. sorry bout delay but bits and pieces all sorted at this stage ..this is $ what's left after all costs covered ..not as much as last year ,but a little adjusting about "donation" will be put in place next year ,some give lots and some think it's fine to pop 90cents change in for the day ,won't say too much as it's a little negative. 06.01.2022 Roots,Radicals,Rockers and Reggaes...... Apologies to a few that I've already spoke to ,,,,,, But there's been a change of date for MATES DAY ,, , DECEMBER 5th....... Been pushed back for a couple of reasons ,,but hopefully Vic will be open to all to play outside together ... Thing is ,if I don't put this together ,and we're allowed out to play,, it'll be a missed opportunity... If it does happen ,,well goodio,,and we can all let off some steam and put those new dance moves into action.... Musos and Bands all keen as mustard . Stage ,sound,lighting,genny/power,foodies ,coffee van ,etc all ready to rock . Just hope things are up and running by then ,as it's been devastating, in lots of ways for a hell of a lot of people, without going into it ,,.. Share the love,,stay positive,,nearly there ,,look after each other and hopefully share the therapy of music together soon . See more
05.01.2022 Jolly good afternoon to you all...with things changing today,,,helped the course,,with 500 to gather at certain events with approved application ,in seperate groups of 50's ,,,probably need a bit more free ranging to be announced next weekend to make it realistic , we hope .. Soooooo. at this stage we're still putting the planning of Mates Day together ... The thing is ,,everybody's just hanging in limbo ,,,foodies,stage,bands,lights and sound,generators,security,hire of venu...e,insurance, etc... If it goes ahead ,,wooohooo If it's not allowed ,,well ,so be it ,,hanging onto the last week to call it ,doesn't really effect anyone ,as there's no money left hands and it'll just make the following years bigger and better.. Be a bit frantic that last week if it's all go ,,,but by jolly,,by jingo,,be a hell of a shinding ..keep those pinkies crossed and share the love . Stay tuned ... See more

03.01.2022 Hi all . Got lotsa orders for stubby holders and some good positive feedback from some kind ,patient ,understanding humans ..thanks... Holders are $20 each ,a little pricey ,but it's the only bit of $ raising we're doing.... To collect and pay, I'll leave some at Lee's Barber shop, ,SNIPPERS , diagonal from Pancake Kitchen ,Little Bridge St..thanks yu spunk .. Some at The Park Hotel ,thanks Jase.....
