08.01.2022 Well done sisters!! A much needed dose of happiness
08.01.2022 It was about this time last year I went for a walk around the You Yangs to start training for my Great Wall of China trek for the Black Dog Institute. I was so ...unfit my chest was thumping, I ended up getting lost, and my knees were burning by the time I found the car. I thought I can’t do this for all the tea in China! If it wasn’t for Brad I would have given up right then and there. I called him and told him I was too unfit. I complained about my dodgy knees. He said simply It’s only pain. The biggest battle is in your head! A challenge isn’t a challenge unless it’s a challenge. Fast forward to this photo, and we had done it! A week of hell for my body, but a life-changing week for my mental health and mental strength. Memories that will stay with me forever, and a new found brother from another mother. Blokes don’t really chat and open up. Brad changed my life, but I’ve never really said it out loud. Definitely never actually said it to him. He’s changed a lot of lives with his work with the Black Dog Institute, selflessly pushing through his own mental demons. All you blokes out there, when you get the chance, post a picture of a mate that changed your life, or even someone you just want to thank for being there. It may be exactly what they need today! Stay strong through these tough times and remember to reach out when you’re struggling! Lifeline 13 11 14 (Save it in your phone!)
05.01.2022 Great video of support in a terrible time for Geelong residents. We have lost far to many teenagers to suicide in recent months and it is not publicised enough. We are still afraid to talk about suicide in case it tips someone over the edge. This is so wrong and completely the opposite. Let’s talk about this to our kids, to our families and to our friends. This is how we save lives
