21.01.2022 Introducing the first of our subcontractors in Dan Phelan from Dan Phelan Bobcat & Tipper Hire. Dan has done our earthworks for the passed 2 years and is an absolute pleasure to deal and work with. Super professional, reliable and superior in his line of work with earthworks. Dan visits our sites approx 3 times through the duration of our builds. First to do a job tidy after we pour the house slab to spread some subgrade around so all trades have a nice surround to work on. S...econd time to come and prep up subgrade for concrete pathways and driveways and finally to do a final build clean up and turf prep which occurs 1-2 weeks before a house handover. Dan also does all of our pads for shed slabs we do as well. Dan is the ‘Best in the Business’ for his line of work and prides himself on his quality of work and pride in his equipment. Dan is expecting to be a Grandad for the first time in the next couple of weeks so we wish him all the best with this new part of his life!!! See more

21.01.2022 Introducing the third and final Chippy that makes up the onsite team of Matheson Builders. Stu Lee is Site Foreman at Matheson Builders. He has been on the tools for 26 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and skill set to the team. Stuey and I have been back and forth with each other over the passed 6 years to try and align ourselves to work together but the timing never quite worked out. As of October/ November last year, the stars aligned and Stuey came on board to the Matheson Builder team. Stuey’s knowledge, passion, work ethic and drive has suited our team and work dynamic perfectly. Love having you on board mate!

19.01.2022 Tonight we are introducing Chris Pegg from Chris Pegg Plumbing & Roofing. Peggy is one of our original sub contractors with Matheson Builders. We started the business in 2010 and when first setting the business up, we wanted to create a business that dealt with the best tradies in town. We were referred by another business owner and family friend of ours of Chris Pegg. His reputation of being an absolute perfectionist and ‘Gun’ in his field left us with no option but to make contact with Chris and engage with him for all our plumbing and roofing work. Peggy and his teams attention to detail, meticulous nature and professionalism means their workmanship is an extremely valuable part of Matheson Builders and what we try to achieve.

18.01.2022 ‘Meet the team’ is back. We have been quite busy over the passed couple of weeks with a number of jobs really coming along nicely and we haven’t had much time to do an interview. But tonight we are introducing Michael Steffin. Mick is a Backhoe operator who does all of our heavy machine work. We usually see Mick 2-3 times on a job. Starting with our Cut & Fills on blocks, digging the plumbing drainage and stormwater with Peggy our plumber and then to do any footings on our jobs. It’s a pleasure having Mick onsite and there is never a dull moment and never short of a laugh and good chat. Mick is always so accomodating with working in with us and our schedules and it’s a pleasure having him on our team!!!

15.01.2022 Matheson Builders are going Behind the scenes with Kev Matheson. Kev worked as an Financial Accountant with Queensland Rail and then Aurizon and worked in the office for 38 years before taking Early retirement in 2013. Since 2014, Dad has been the ‘Mr Fix It’ around all our job sites. From general maintenance around job sites, keeping jobs clean and tidy, running around delivering material and supplies to sites, repair work to any damaged fittings etc on site and getting our homes in pristine condition for Handover day. Kev loves being onsite with the boys and discussing all things fishing, business, troubleshooting products or issues and lending an ear or advice to some of the younger guys on site when they are asking for it. Kev is worth his weight in gold at Matheson Builders and is a great asset to our building business!!!

14.01.2022 Matheson Builders are taking the time over the next few weeks to introduce everyone to our carpentry team as well as our awesome other trades onsite that help create the houses we are fortunate to build and give you a little insight into our job sites etc So first Cab off the rank with Meet the Team is our apprentice Ben McKenna. Mac has worked for us now for 2 years as a part time apprentice while working a 7 on/ 7 off roster at Lake Vermont mine. While working as ...an apprentice carpenter on his 7 days off. To say this has been a MASSIVE effort is an understatement! While still turning up everyday keen to learn and put in and work hard has taken a huge amount of persistence and perseverance. Mac decided he wanted to make the switch full time from a few weeks ago and get through his apprenticeship abit quicker and enjoy the lifestyle of working and living in town full time. We are super happy with Ben’s progress, determination and dedication to his work and our business! See more

11.01.2022 ‘Meet the Team’ is back! We have great pleasure in introducing Timmy Fitzgerald! Fitzy has been with us since the start of the year. Tim’s experience through previous employers as a ‘leading hand’ in commercial construction has made for an seamless transition to residential homes and made him a valuable and integral part of our team! In such a short time, Fitzy has been a huge influence and benefit to our business with his dedication to work and the positivity he brings to the team vibe. As mentioned in the video, I approached Tim when he first finished his apprenticeship to come over to BMMB. At the time Fitzy, wanted to give his employer more time to payback for his apprenticeship which we definitely respected. Now a few years on, we are super happy to have Fitzy join our team and help create people’s dream homes

01.01.2022 Today we are going to take you ‘Behind the Scenes’ and into the engine room of Matheson Builders. We are introducing the Partner/ Director of Matheson Builders, Jessica Matheson. Jess is the back bone of our construction company. From the quoting, invoicing, pays, client consultations (just to name a few). Jessica is incredibly driven and literally the hardest worker there is!!! Jess still currently works as a Financial Accountant at Aurizon and then basically works full tim...e hours for Matheson Builders and somehow in her spare time is completing an Interior Design Course. How she manages this while being a loving wife and awesome mum to 3 young kids is nothing short of incredible. Jessica’s passion for design and general construction knowledge and know-how is absolutely incredible and every client can not speak more highly enough of Jess and her ability to turn peoples thoughts, images and dreams into real life reality! Thanks so much to Jessica for all her hard work and incredible drive and work ethic. Matheson Builders would not exist without Jess!!! See more
