23.01.2022 axxis announced as one of three finalists in the Dubbo Chamber of Commerce ‘Salute to Dubbo Business’ Awards for 2020. Thank you to the loyal clients of axxis for helping axxis not just survive but thrive during COVID-19. The axxis staff have a passion for serving clients but when the team saw the Dubbo Chamber of Commerce President, Matt Wright, announce axxis as one of only three finalists in the cut down version of the 2020 awards, it put an extra spring in the step of all the team members. Congratulations also must go the Chamber for innovating with a different awards process this year during some very challenging times.

21.01.2022 The new Lifeline building in Dubbo was officially opened today. Thank you to the committee; volunteers; sponsors; attendees and all supporters of Winter Wonderland. Despite years of requests to the NSW Government for building funds, none was forthcoming. With the community support and the dollars from Winter Wonderland, the Government realised they needed to help. Without Winter Wonderland, the purchase of the building would not have been possible. This Government tends to fo...llow rather than lead and there is no doubt they followed the community with this project. And it all happened very quickly. Timeline: 15 April 2019. Alex Ferguson, ED of Lifeline Central West, met with John Mason and myself to discuss a fundraiser. 6 May 2019. A passionate committee was formed and the first committee meeting was held. 12 July 2019. The Winter Wonderland fundraiser was held. 26 Nov 2019. The State Government announced additional funds for a Lifeline building. 12 October 2020. Lifeline Central West opens a new building in Dubbo. The timing could not have better with COVID-19 creating additional demand for Lifeline services. Sadly Lifeline Australia recently hit a new milestone with over 3,300 calls taken in a single day. 15.01.2022 On 13 July 18 the Liberal Party’s Daryl Maguire, Wagga Wagga’s representative in NSW Parliament, was found to be involved in trying to elicit commissions in 2016 for a property deal. Disappointment turned to frustration when Daryl said that he had resigned from the Liberal Party but refused to resign from Parliament. The Deputy Premier called on Daryl to resign. The Opposition Leader called on Daryl to resign. Wagga Wagga called on Daryl to resign.... And while Daryl steadfastly refused to resign, the people of NSW expected the Premier to step in. Except she didn’t. Even after extensive public pressure, Daryl stayed in Parliament, collecting his $165K salary, until he finally resigned on 3 August - after the Opposition said they would move an expulsion motion on 7 August. And the Premierwell, it has been revealed that Daryl and Gladys were in a close personal relationship since 2015. No wonder Gladys didn’t pursue the issue! Furthermore, she only ended the relationship a few months ago when [she] was asked to support this enquiry. And meanwhile, over in the real world, people are dealing with COVID-19 and tough economic times and drought and climate change and mental health andlifehoping that our ‘leaders’ are making decisions for the common good!
