23.01.2022 Logan City NOT in lockdown The Queensland COVID-19 Restricted Areas Direction released last night means the Public Health Direction - Aged Care (No.8) app...lies to residential aged care facilities in the suburbs listed. This means schools, childcare centres, shops, community centres etc. are still open as long as they continue to follow their COVIDSafe plans. However, residents should still remain vigilant and follow the health advice. If you have been in contact at one of the listed locations at any of the times prescribed (see https://bit.ly/3jQ8XKx), immediately self-isolate, call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) and get tested. Stay COVID Free and Do the Three: - Wash hands regularly - Physical distance (1.5 metres) - Have the COVIDSafe App *Information is current at time of posting.

23.01.2022 Good work council. Logan Country Safe City also strongly advocates for crime reduction and community safety. A tough but fair approach works well.... Council working in with QPS and state counterparts is a crucial component of effective crime reduction and road safety.

22.01.2022 A staff member at Parklands Christian College has tested positive for Covid19. If you are in the Park Ridge area or have contact at the school it is vital that you get tested at Logan Hospital right away. The School is closed for deep cleaning.

21.01.2022 THE federal government has released project details this morning showing the Mount Lindesay Highway will be upgraded from two to four lanes between Stoney Camp Road and Chambers Flat Road with an extra $7.5 million injected into the project. That is state and federal funding now approved. Now we need dates and specifics.... The camp cable rd and jimboomba section of the mt lindesay highway was shovel ready last state election. And only started the last few months. We need specifics and timeframes of works from the state gov for this new project.

20.01.2022 This is good for our area. This section is well overdue to become a national road. This is a good decision from the feds. Excerpt below "THE federal government has passed legislation listing the Mount Lindesay Highway as part of the National Land Transport Network and increasing the chances for federally funded upgrades.... The legislation includes the Mount Lindesay Highway from its junction with the Logan Motorway at Parkinson to its junction with Bromelton Street at Beaudesert as well as Bromelton Street and the Beaudesert Boonah Road to the logistics facility on Beaudesert Boonah Road at Bromelton." Upgrades on the Mt Lindesay are crucial and need to be 4 lanes to Beaudesert. Especially around Jimboomba. Council, State and Council working together will be able to fix this dangerous and controversial Highway Just this week Division 9 councillor Scott Bannan announced the disused rail line going underneath the Mt Lindesay Highway will be used in future as pedestrian access. This is a good step for safety especially with such close proximity to a school with severe traffic problems at peak times.

20.01.2022 Last week we had our Rotary Club Of Jimboomba Inc changeover dinner at the Jimboomba hall. This hall as well as dorrington hall and the little brown church are run by Jimboomba Rotary for the communitys benefit. @ Jimboomba District Hall

18.01.2022 Logan Country Safe City chair Mathew Owens welcomed the announcement. "This proposed method of putting the onus back on the vehicle owner, akin to a speeding ticket, is a common sense approach," he said. "This method, combined with new technology, is a game changer.... "We would like to see the LNP, One Nation and Labor all embrace these methods, no matter who forms government after October."

07.01.2022 INLAND RAIL If you live in #Division11LCC or along the freight line and have not heard of ARTC or InLand Rail you NEED to know what is going on. The d...elivery of this project is closer than you think, with work being done this week and next on Wyatt Road Bridge Undallah, so that construction crews can get to the track in the future without driving the long way round through Ripley, which is an extra 70km / 1 hour detour. ARTC were supposed to do due diligamce as they are closing the bridge for 10 days to upgrade, but they neglected to alert Park Ridge Transit of its closure between 8am - 4pm. It wasnt until residents living on Wyatt Road contacted me about the closure, and knowing that FSCC students needed to access buses and residents needed better access, rather than a 70km / 1 hour detour. I was able to get better access for residents, and whilst not ideal, I want residents to know, I am fighting for you! The information below is about some online info sessions that you need to register for. The Federal Governments recent commitment to fast-track critical infrastructure projects, one of which projects is Inland Rail Program and it is accelerating its procurement and delivery plan. Inland Rail is providing an industry briefing to communicate the market opportunities this plan will present for the following projects: Albury to Illabo Illabo to Stockinbingal Stockinbingal to Parkes Narromine to Narrabri North Star to NSW/Qld Border NSW/Qld Border to Gowrie Kagaru to Acacia Ridge and Bromelton. The video briefing session will be made available online from 11am, Thursday 17 September 2020. Register to view the briefing video https://inlandrail.artc.com.au/indust/survey_tools/register To provide industry the opportunity to learn more, a live online Q&A session will be held at 12.30-1.30pm, Thursday 24 September 2020. If you would like to register for the live online Q&A session, please go to the ARTC website and follow the link.
