25.01.2022 Let’s talk purple shampoo DONTS Don’t use it every wash - purple shampoo can be very drying and we only recommend using it when the hair starts to show yellow/brassy tones. Over using it can lead up to a build up of pigment on your hair. ... Use a different shampoo to clean your hair first before doing your second purple shampoo. We recommenced not using it a week prior to your appointment to avoid any pigment build up. DO ALWAYS use a professional brand. We stock CPR always blonde and True blonde zero yellow. Use it every 3rd wash and follow with either a nourishing treatment or a hydrating mask. Leaving it on for a few minutes while in the shower will help with that fresh clean look.

23.01.2022 C A R A M E L B L O N D E We did a colour balance for Anna and added in a few low lights to help create a beautiful blend - it also helps the lighter blonde to pop next to a darker colour.

15.01.2022 Did you know that getting regular haircuts DOES NOT effect the growth of your hair, what it does help is avoids the spilt ends from travelling further up the hair shaft. The spilt ends will make your hair on the ends feel thinner and broken! It’s best to just get rid of them to make your hair feel lush and thick again

10.01.2022 A byproduct of aging is thinning hair, grey hair and hair loss. There have been a million and one products produced to help to rectify this. But what is the act...ual cause and how can we prevent/upport it? Vitamin A (liver retinol) is a critical piece of the puzzle when it comes to the livers ability to produce ceruloplasmin, a protein that carries copper to the parts of your body that need it. Without bioavailable copper the body is not able to properly metabolize iron, which leads to a build-up in the tissues and an increase in oxidative stress (rusting) in the body. Unfortunately, the modern day diet is severely deficient in vitamin A from retinol. A byproduct of aging is hydrogen peroxide, which is what thins hair and makes it go gray. So where is hydrogen peroxide coming from? The best way to build up hydrogen peroxide in the human body is by taking ascorbic acid and vitamin D. Morley Robbins So how do ascorbic acid and Vit D relate to iron? Its pretty simple Ascorbic acid will decrease the bodies own vitamin C. When vitamin C decreases, so does the livers ability to produce ceruloplasmin (bio-available copper). Anytime bio-avialbe copper decreases, iron in the tissues increase. Vitamin D depletes liver retinol (Vitamin A). Vitamin A is required for the conversions of copper in the liver to ceruloplasmin. Same explanation as the above. .....and anytime bio-availbe copper is decreased, the thyroid slows down. What to do: STOP: any ascorbic acid supplements as well as Vitamin D Implement the RTN Method to begin replenishing the system with energy and critical minerals and vitamins to begin decompensating the system. START: getting Vitamin A from dessicated liver as well as eating healthy animal fats to absorb Vitamin A (lard, beef tallow, chicken or duck fat, organic butter)

03.01.2022 Did you know that if you come into the salon for a semi refresh in between your appointment this will help keep your blonde looking fresh until your next lightening session!

01.01.2022 G O I N G L I G H T E R Step 1 of going lighter for Lovely Natalie. Removing dark colour from the hair can be extremely hard, especially if it is box dye. Natalie had been box colouring her hair for years. It’s important to remember everyone’s hair is different - some will lift a lot lighter and quicker than others will. We always recommend anyone who comes into the salon wanting to go lighter to always be using professional hair care products before you start your lightening journey. This will not only improve the integrity and condition of your hair, it will also help us lift you as light as your hair can handle. Lastly but most importantly it will keep your hair in the best condition. We pride ourself on that Colour, cut & style by @kaitlyn_matisseartforhair @ Matisse Art for Hair

01.01.2022 Whew... we made it! What a year 2020 has been for so many of us! 2020 has been a huge year for us at @matisseartforhair. We could never express just how thankful we are for all of our wonderful clients. We know Chri...stmas this year might be a little different for some of you but our Christmas wish to you is that you find yourself happy and connected to family and friends even if it’s just in the ‘2020 way’ Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
