07.01.2022 Here's a piece of work that consumed me for several months earlier this year. Pearl Jam have been the staple and the pinnacle of my music for many decades. I explore my connection to the band and the songs here and rate my favourites. Definitely one for music fans...please share with your music loving mates.

03.01.2022 As many of you may know, I have been working on another novel, my second effort after I self-published my first book in 2015. With completion in sight, I am now beginning to raise my profile in the hope of gaining a publishing deal. Part of this will be through releasing some of my other articles, travel logs, stories and thoughts via my website at www.matmurphy.com.au In coming days and weeks I will be providing links to these writings for your enjoyment. And hopefully towards the end of this year, I will have some positive news on my next novel. Cheers everyone!

02.01.2022 In late 2016, I visited Tasmania’s Styx Valley as part of my research for the seed of an idea for a story. I am very proud to say that I have now finished writing the first draft of this novel. Nearly four years of on/off creative labour, topped off by a flourish of output in the last few weeks. Now the long job of re-editing 91,000 words begins and then to find a publisher. Stay tuned!

02.01.2022 Coot-tha, coffee, computer and Chapter 31 nearly complete. This story has taken a long time to create, but I am accelerating towards its conclusion. A couple of solid days of writing will see the first draft done.
