24.01.2022 A message from a client who was granted bail last Friday who is now back home with his children and wife: "Elias, mate I love you and your legal team, you're not just my lawyer, but a friend that cares for me and my family. I promise I won't let myself and my family and you down again. Enjoy Easter!" This is what it's all about. If you need an expert criminal lawyer, call Matouk Joyner Lawyers on (02) 9281 5478.

23.01.2022 The Daily Telegraph has detailed our appeal to the High Court of Australia in respect of our client Mr Matthew Lawton: "A killer jailed over the shocking mutilation of a suspected informant - a crime which was made into an Underbelly TV series - has begun a High Court bid for freedom almost 20 years after the brutality." 23.01.2022 Celebrations in order for Zoe after finishing her Law degree!

20.01.2022 Last Thursday we received a second section 10 for a young man for the Eastern Suburbs in troubling circumstances where he needed his licence to work. Here's the happy client's review after the successful plea at Waverley Local Court: "This is the second time I have used Elias as my solicitor and both times I have been more then happy with the result. He was able to get me a section 10 and good behaviour on my first charge and on the second charge I received another section 10... good behaviour bond, while getting my license back on the spot 2 weeks before completing the minimum charge. His 20 years experience definitely shows In the court rooms in the way he presents himself and the case at hand. I would 100% recommend him to anyone in need of a solicitor." We're proud to represent people from our community who aren't "bad" people but have only made poor judgment calls from time to time and need all the help they can get. If you need an expert lawyer, call Matouk Joyner Lawyers on (02) 9281 5478.

17.01.2022 Read about one of our cases in the Sunday Telegraph today about a client who we got Supreme Court bail for earlier in the week. Read the full Sunday Telegraph story below: https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au//89cf94f324b96ec252c80b1

17.01.2022 Yesterday, Simon received this heartfelt message from a family member of a client, ecstatic upon hearing the news of the judgement delivered on sentence. We greatly appreciate the words she had to share: Simon, the absolute BEST! Thank you for your support, hard work and commitment to us over the last year and a half. Your knowledge (which is invaluable), attention to detail and assistance has been extremely reassuring during what has been a very difficult time for us. We c...ould not have gone through this without you besides us! You went above and beyond, and you were always available at all sorts of ridiculous hours to help put us at ease - thank you!! Lastly, and most importantly, the outcome we received was absolutely AMAZING - it was below our expectations and we cannot thank you enough for this!!! You are definitely the best solicitor and I will be recommending you to everyone no doubt!!!

13.01.2022 #2009Throwback to the Airport Bikie Brawl case, where solicitor Elias Matouk and barrister Avni Djemal represented Peter Zervas in the Local Court. Over a decade has passed since then, and Avni continues to showcase his superb advocacy skills - achieving a not-guilty verdict in the NSW Supreme Court before Justice Hulme. Congratulations! https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au//b8544d3f8a1ac628ca266c7

09.01.2022 Clearly the papz had nothing better to do than taking sneaky hand-held snaps of the silver fox himself at the Waverley Local Court last Thursday morning...

09.01.2022 Mr Gallo was released from custody on Wednesday evening and was very thankful to his team of lawyers at Matouk Joyner Lawyers, Elias and Jordan, as well as barrister Nancy Mikhaiel. Unfortunately, even though Mr Gallo was extremely grateful for being able to return to Italy, our office can regrettably confirm that no "Versace jackets" were gifted to our team as a thank you :'( See the full story below. ... https://www.youtube.com/watch

08.01.2022 Channel 7 producers for the morning show, Sunrise reached out to lawyer, Simon Joyner, for comment yesterday on the controversial legal issues surrounding Celeste Barber’s $51 million bushfire appeal. Trapped in ‘legal limbo’, the money raised by the Australian comedian is now subject to court proceedings - a consequence of Celeste’s oversight when setting up her Facebook fundraiser on 3 January 2020. While the Facebook page clearly stated that the funds raised were to go to...wards the ‘Trustee of the NSW Rural First Service’, after raising $22million in just 48h, Celeste posted an Instagram story telling her followers that she will distribute the funds to the RFS in Victorian and South Australia, and also to the families affected by the devastating fires and the wildlife. Some really interesting issues raised on donations, trusts and charitieshave a read of the story, and let me know what you think. https://7news.com.au//heres-whats-happening-with-celeste-b

07.01.2022 Pictured yesterday outside the Parramatta District Court, Elias Matouk and one very relieved client - thankful for finally achieving ‘the result he wanted’. After a lengthy three year legal battle - with a lot of stress and emotional hardship thrown in-between - our client was one of the rare reckless wounding matters to receive a Community Corrections Order (2.9%!). According to the Judicial Commission of NSW sentencing statistics, 75.4% of people charged with this offence r...eceive a term of imprisonment, but with the hard work and dedication of the team at Matouk Joyner Lawyers, we were able to prove that such a sentence was completely undeserved. He had the following words to share: Matouk Joyner Lawyers handled the case very well, and I couldn’t fault you guys in the slightest. We would have had a lot more trouble if we didn’t have you guys by our side.

06.01.2022 NOT GUILTY. This morning, after deliberating for a little over a week, a NSW Supreme Court jury acquitted our client of both murder and manslaughter. A lengthy and arduous trial filled with complex legal issues of self-defence and intoxication, we welcome the juries verdict and we are thrilled that Christopher can now return home to Ireland after almost 2 years in custody. Pictured inside Darlinghurst Court 3 is barrister, Ms Margaret Cunneen SC, Christopher, and Simon Joyner - all relieved and at a loss for words with the result.

06.01.2022 Today we appeared at Newtown Local Court where we acted on behalf of a client who had lost his job, was forced onto JobSeeker, and had uplifted his whole life to become a full-time carer for a disabled friend. He found his way on the wrong side of the Law after circumstance saw his business go bust and he scavenged to keep his head above water. The client received a fair outcome and justice was served. We received this message from our client afterwards: "Elias, I honestly c...an't put into words how much I appreciate your help, time and professionalism you and your team put into my situation today. I will never forget..." If you require criminal defence advice, contact our office on (02) 9281 5478 and speak to an expert lawyer today.
