25.01.2022 Just keeping you informed. Information below from the EPA. Regards. Carlos Dear resident,... The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), NSW Ports and Randwick City Council are aware of night-time noise currently impacting residents in the suburbs of Malabar, Little Bay, Phillip Bay, Chifley, Botany, La Perouse, Maroubra and Matraville. We acknowledge that the noise is annoying and is impacting residents. We are working hard together to identify noise sources and potential mitigation measures. We are continuing noise monitoring and noise surveys, and are actively reviewing noise monitoring data to help build a more detailed picture of noise sources in the area. Officers have been on the ground monitoring with specialist equipment, and recording noise observations at locations throughout the affected areas. The EPA, NSW Ports and Randwick City Council have been speaking with impacted residents to better understand the impacts of the noise on them. Initial results show that there is no single source that is causing the noise. The range of industries near the impacted areas means that a holistic approach to noise management is likely needed. We are working together with the other agencies, and have set up a working group to share information and investigate options for a possible solution. The EPA encourages residents impacted by noise to report it to the EPAs Environment Line on 131 555, which is available 24/7. We will update the community when new information becomes available. Kind regards, Mark Mark Hanemann Senior Operations Officer Regulatory Operations Metro, NSW Environment Protection Authority [email protected] www.epa.nsw.gov.au Image@EPA_NSW Report pollution and environmental incidents 131 555 (NSW

17.01.2022 We must stop this proposed Incinerator development which will cause health risks to locals and also to our natural environment S.O.S SAVE OUR SUBURBS... The Orora Paper Mill and Suez Waste Management are forming a joint venture to build a commercial waste incinerator at Matraville. This proposal would: Burn up to 160,000 tones of waste as fuel per year, including glues and plastics. No guarantee to capture 100% of particulate emissions. Height of incinerator stack could be up to 65m (17 storeys high) which will be highly visible over all Matraville. Take the total number of Heavy Vehicle Movements at the Orora site up to 225 per day. Be located next to thousands of homes, kindergartens, schools, sporting fields, childrens parks and shopping centres. Operate 24/7. Create emissions to affect surrounding suburbs in Bayside and Randwick Councils. Increase pollution in Port Botany area which is already one of the most polluted in NSW. These emissions could include highly toxic and carcinogenic persistent organic pollutants such as dioxins and furans. OUR SUBURB IS NOT A DUMPING GROUND FOR POLLUTING HEAVY INDUSTRY Please help with objecting to this proposal by calling or emailing the contacts below: NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian MP for Willoughby Electoral Office (02) 9439 4199 Parliament House NSW (02) 8574 5000 Email: [email protected] Matt Kean MP for Hornsby Minister for Energy & Environment (02) 8574 6150 Email: [email protected]

11.01.2022 Wage freeze to Nurses is not fair, its not right, its an insult We are in a pandemic and its hurting all of us and effecting our usual way of life but its Nurses that are on the cold hard front of it testing people and in general dealing with so many intense situations every day and night in the emergency wards and in the hospitals in general. I have observed on occasions what nurses go through when people arrive in emergency wards after getting seriously hurt usually du...e excessive alcohol consumption drunk beyond reason, also people overdosing on all sorts of drugs, domestic abuse, damage they see to the human body for reasons unknown. Nurses are more than essential workers they are unbelievable human beings that have the gift of not only being supportive, understanding, patient, healers, carers, and so much more. I have seen the abuse that Nurses cop and its intense, how they take it day in and day out is an incredible trate within themselves. To me Nurses and the SES, Emergency services are our real life Super Heroes. I dont think regardless of what ever reason that Nurses should not be deprived of a incremental pay rise or any type of pay rise for that matter. Im a public servant and regarded as an essential worker and I have not problem not getting my annual percentage pay rise to help our country get back on its feet but please dont deprive the Nurses from getting any benefits they are entitled to. Thank you to all Nurses for what you do and how you do it. You are my real life Superheros.

11.01.2022 NOEL HELPS ELDERLY WITH CONTACTLESS PRESCRIPTIONS Eastern suburbs pharmacist Noel DSouza has leapt to the rescue of elderly people isolated at home by COVID-1...9. He and his staff operate a contactless prescription service for older customers, some of whom are on multiple medication regimes. Were delivering to the letterbox or door step so the whole process is completely contactless, says Noel. They pay over the phone and we obtain the prescriptions from doctors by email or fax. He urges other pharmacists who do not already have contactless procedures to put them in place. Our old and vulnerable need to have special protection during the current crisis, he said. The only trouble is that they will become too isolated and could suffer mental health issues as a result. For many elderly people, visits from relatives and others are their only direct social contact. With COVID-19 sweeping through the community, Noel and his staff have had to handle a greatly increased workload. He expects that situation to last up to three months. During that time weve got to be very cautious, he said. He said that as well as a pop-up testing clinic in C-19 hot spot Bondi, there is one at the former Prince of Wales diabetes clinic in Avoca St, Randwick. But one of the main messages from former Randwick mayor Noel is Dont panic! He is confident the community will get through the COVID-19 crisis if we all take the necessary steps such as hand sanitising and social distancing. Meanwhile, he says, pharmacies are at the front line in the battle against the COVID-19 virus and he is managing to maintain stocks of hand sanitiser, face masks, asthma sprays and other in-demand supplies. He urges people in high-risk categories to get vaccinated against flu. The flu vaccine will not combat COVID-19, however it will it help in reducing the severity and spread of seasonal influenza which can lower a person's immunity and make them susceptible to other illnesses. 08.01.2022 Lest We Forget. We will remember them. God Bless and thank you to the Anzacs and all who have served in wars to protect the world and to save this great country... Australia our home. All the Soldiers Men and Women, Nurses, Carers, Mums and Dads, Husband and Wives, Boy friends and Girlfriends and Children who lost love ones. You, They are all Heroes and We Will Remember Them. Peace to all Anzac Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day on which we remember Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The spirit of Anzac, with its human qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity.
