Roots BJJ was the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym to be opened in Australia by a Brazilian Black Belt 20 years ago. While continuing to grow the Roots team, their new gym will be opening with us this month! Children and Adult classes will be available for all levels. 02.01.2022 Matraville Martial Arts are proud to have recently partnered with Star Club and their Primary School Vacation Care program. Our resident Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor, James from Roots BJJ, brought a bit of BJJ fun to the kids at St Agnes Catholic Primary School in Matraville and St Mary St Joseph Catholic Primary School in Maroubra. The kids loved having a go at some BJJ drills, takedowns and even some wrestling. It was a fun filled two days with over 70 kids participating. We look forward to partnering with Star Club again next time. Also a big thank you to Adrian from our BJJ teens class for volunteering his time for the kids.
