11.01.2022 RAV 4 with Transmission Shifting Issues from 2nd to 3rd. This being very common fault caused by the ECU itself causing the shifting issues from faulty transmission control unit, resistors or cracked/dry solder joints. These often go miss diagnosed as a faulty transmission itself which by doing so, the faulty ecu/shifting will end up destroying the new trans in no time at all which is why it is always a good idea to get the ecu looked at first. Luckily the issue was picked up straight away and no damage was done to the transmission. We sent the ECU off to get professionally repaired, gave the transmission a much needed service with new filter, gasket and fluids and the car is on its way shifting as smooth as butter on toast probably better than it ever did.
