24.01.2022 Today Albany Creek State High School were finally able to celebrate the offical opening of the their new innovation block for students. 24.01.2022 Let me share with you a new community charity that has its roots right here in the The Hills District. Welcome to Stationery Aid. I met with Ali and Jan sometime ago, who had an awesome idea. I suggested some great locals to link up with and Stationery Aid was born. Excess stationery, books, pens, pencils etc from your school, home or office as used to create packs for use by those in need. Congrats Ali and Jan and team for getting the dream up and running.

23.01.2022 PLEASE LET YOUR NEIGHBOURS KNOW Waste collection services disrupted, but bins WILL BE collected Waste and recycling bin collections will be disrupted next week, with the Transport Workers Union notifying that their drivers will strike on Mondays starting next week (16/11/2020). Moreton Bay Region residents are assured that their rubbish will still be collected, although maybe not the same day. It’s estimated the strike action will create at least a one day delay on your usual... weekly household waste collection. Your fortnightly recycling collection may be delayed for a number of days but all bins will be collected within a week of the usual collection date. Cleanaway, Council’s waste collection contractor, will operate with a skeleton staff to ensure their waste collection services can continue. As long as you leave your bin on the kerbside, it will be collected. To ensure Cleanaway’s staff can process the increased workload there will be additional conditions temporarily enforced on collections: Overloaded bins will not be collected, the bin’s lid must be able to be closed. Overflow waste on the ground around bins will not be collected. If you bin is blocked by an on-street vehicle or other obstruction, it will not be collected. These rules will be enforced from 4:00am on Tuesday 17 November through to 4:00am on Saturday 21 November. Thank you for your understanding. See more

20.01.2022 Many of you know my passion and love for advocacy for people with disabilities. Some of my earliest memories in this space involve befriending two brothers who lived with Muscular Dystrophy when I was in grade 3 advocating for improved access around our school. This short video tells the story of the journey. The journey of the child. The journey of the parents. The journey of a shortened life. Please share and help raise awareness. Young locals like Hugo and Oscar and their parents inspire me every day as they too deal with MD. They and so many others in our community are the reason why I will continue to fight for a more accessible and inclusive region and community for all. https://www.facebook.com/131006166909678/posts/3541439579199636/

13.01.2022 Four years since I introduced a motion to create the Moreton Bay Regions first Access & Inclusion Policy. Since that time we have delivered new infrastructure and programs including our local All Abilities Playground, Auslan Story Time in Libraries, we are improving disability access at countless bus stops, developing programs to fix the missing links in our footpath network, facility upgrades and so much more. Shout out to my colleagues in council, both past and present who ...support this vision, in particular Councillor Denise Sims who seconded the motion back in 2016. We are aiming to make our region known as an accessible destination for all and that vision continues to be supported by our current Mayor Peter Flannery. #accessinclusion #accessforall #disabilityawareness #disability #mbrc #moretonbay #moretonbayregion #visitmoretonbayregion #visitmoretonbay

12.01.2022 On the way to the tip and came across this on the Jinker Track. At the state forest, near one of the cycling car parks no less! Let me assure you this is completely FAKE! I have arranged for rangers to be collecting it tomorrow but if you have any information about who placed it please report this information to councils call center on 3205 0555 or via [email protected] Let me be clear there is NO application before council to development the state forest! NONE. ZIP. ZERO. ZILCH! It is State forest, part of a conservation area, regulated and maintained by the state government.
