25.01.2022 It was a beautiful day to get out and about and do a bit of doorknocking (whilst social distancing of course)! I always enjoy chatting to locals and getting their perspective on how our state is going. Overall people are happy with how the Marshall Liberal Government is navigating the COVID-19 crisis and appreciate the efforts of all South Australians during this pandemic.
25.01.2022 Lest we forget. I am proud to wear a poppy to commemorate and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and acknowledge those who continue to serve today. Remembrance Day marks the moment when the guns fell silent on the Western Front at 11am on the 11th of November 1918 and marked the end of the Great War.... Thank you to the Henley and Grange RSL for having me this morning to pay my respects on behalf of our community.
25.01.2022 Living local and with a young lad of my own I always love visiting the local schools and kindergartens! We are truly lucky here in Colton to have access to top quality schooling facilities! Earlier in the week I visited Fulham Park Preschool Lockleys, Fulham North Primary School, Barbara Kiker Memorial Kindergarten and Henley High School with the Minister for Education, John Gardner MP. It was great to meet so many passionate and enthusiastic kids - I also got to experience a reading of The Green Sheep by the Minister and I can honestly say I was hooked on every word, delivered with great enthusiasm! Head over to his Facebook page to experience a snippet of the reading!
23.01.2022 Work is now underway on the $12 million Henley High School building project - it was great to have John Gardner MP the Minister for Education join me as we visited the school to check out the early progress and hear about the excitement building in the school community! It’s part of the Marshall Liberal Government’s record $1.3 billion school infrastructure build - creating jobs now and transforming learning environments for our kids’ future! #WorldClassEducation

Some people have lost their jobs, others have endured financial stress.... Families have been separated and others have missed seeing loved ones at critical times. None of this is easy and that's why initiatives like R U OK Day are so important. For more help Lifeline, Beyond Blue, Kids Helpline Official, Suicide Call Back Service.

04.01.2022 The Minister for Environment David Speirs MP and I were taken on a very special tour of the Marine Discovery Centre today by Chloe, a student at Star of the Sea School. Chloe wrote to the Minister inviting him down to experience the centre for himself and offered to take him on a private tour! It was very informative and educational for both the Minister and I - here we are pictured with Gary the pufferfish!
04.01.2022 New Zealand, welcome back to South Australia! For the first time in over a year, direct flights between New Zealand and South Australia will resume this morning. The resumption of direct flights is going to create and sustain tourism jobs as well as investment at a time the sector needs it the most.... Pre-COVID, New Zealand was South Australia’s fourth largest international inbound market, with a record 43,000 trips made by Kiwis to SA in 2019.
03.01.2022 There is no denying that more capacity is needed in our Emergency Departments. That's why we are in the midst of delivering a landmark hospital build program which will see a substantial increase in treatment spaces. We inherited a health system where hospital Emergency Departments had been downgraded, and the Repat closed.... In contrast, we are implementing a comprehensive plan that not only increases beds and treatment spaces but reduces the number of people needing hospital admission. We have more doctors, more nurses, more midwives and more ambulance officers in South Australia than ever before in the State’s history. While we can’t make the concrete dry any faster on our upgrades, we’re getting on with the job of increasing capacity in our hospitals to help fix ramping and deliver better health care for all South Australians.
03.01.2022 Are you a teacher? Know a teacher? Know a graduate ready to become a teacher? We have hundreds of permanent teaching positions to fill in our public secondary schools as we transition year 7 to high school. This also includes positions arising from the four new schools we are opening in Aldinga, Angle Vale, Goolwa, and Whyalla next year.... Our world-class education system is giving students the best start in life, and much of that comes down to our fantastic teacher workforce.
03.01.2022 During the Covid-19 pandemic our small businesses have been doing it tough. In light of this, I am creating an online Community Business Directory to encourage people to shop local first. Small business is what keeps South Australia going. It creates jobs, provides products and services, and helps to build stronger communities.... In my role as your local MP, I aim to do whatever I can to support small businesses so that they can survive and thrive in these difficult times. There’s a business around every corner and often the challenge is knowing what is where! To help locals discover businesses in their backyards, I am putting together this Community Business Directory, providing a listing of many of the businesses found in and around Colton. If you have a small business that you would like to register please send me an email at [email protected] I look forward to sharing the directory with you very soon!
02.01.2022 A big good luck to the Lockleys Football Club today. They have three teams across three divisions fighting it out for a flag. A fantastic effort by the club. Go the Dee’s!
